N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is remarkable! The parent/teacher/community involvement at Acres is incredible. The teachers and parents go above and beyond to help the children. This school offers numerous special needs programs, including free counseling. Communication is very easy between the parents and teachers. Do not pass this school up!Parent Review11y ago - Tecumseh High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Principal Griff Mills appears harmless as a dove when you interview for a teaching position, but once you hire in you realize that he is not qualified to be an Educational Leader. His experience includes being more of an Athletic Director. While I taught There, he demonstrated a lack of instructional and curricular expertise. Another issue was his sexism toward women. He would not allow women to become Deans ofGeneral Education Departments. His lack of knowledge and controlling style was abrasive. He criticized teachers for giving student a “0” for not turning in an assignment and tried to influence the grades we gave students.Teacher Review3y ago - Tecumseh Middle School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff at the middle school has excelled with communicating my child's educational progress with me. Throughout the day I can check the Campus Portal app to see updated grades, attendance, and assignments so I am up to date with my child's progress. Along with the app I receive updates frequently through the TPS app, emails, and text messages. The main office has been extremely cordial and welcoming to deal with, and all of the teachers have been pleasant and seem genuinely concerned with their student's wellbeing and education. The number of sports, clubs, and after school activities is decent and well organized making it easy to find something for everyone. My only concern applies to the bussing service that they utilize. The busses appear to be overcrowded and very chaotic, lacking any semblance of authority or control. They do monitor the routes with video surveillance in case of incidents, but these are only good for after the fact review. It would be nice to see a few more routes added to the system to remove the overcrowding situation, making it safer for the students, and seperating some of the older students from the younger ones.Parent Review5mo ago - Check out schools near 500 N Evans St #1.

"There are no leash laws. Also, there’s a great dog park at Cal Zorn along with the fact that dogs are welcome on the trails by the old community center and many local businesses are kind enough to put out water bowls for thirsty pups out for a walk. "

"Clean, beautiful restored homes, great schools. All the neighborhoods are homes from colonial times, history is rich. Many families who are hard working blue collars, respect from neighbors and strangers alike. "

"I’ve spent almost 30 years around this town, and I can say that it is a town for those who like a peaceful quiet day to day life. It’s not to say you don’t have neighbors. Everyone is simply polite to everyone else, yet minds there own business, and contribute to maintaining a clean city image as well as numerous volunteer activities to help others around town. It is an old town full of a lot of history that it’s people take pride in representing. Numerous historical markers are scattered throughout the town despite its petite size. Lack of major corporate development project have kept the town small, making its much more affordable neighbor to the south, Adrian the go-to destination for major retail locations. This has contributed to keep poverty rates in Tecumseh much lower than average as low income families are more likely to be forced into an area that is closer to their job and affordable shopping."
