Pisgah High School May have been a wonderful school in years past. But, it’s completely gone downhill. It’s completely different from the Elementary. When my child started 7th grade I knew it wasn’t going to be the same as the Elementary. No, it’s been much worse. We have a principal that doesn’t care one way or another. If you have any questions or concerns don’t think you will ever be able to see him directly. I know because we’ve been at the high school for 5 years. I have dealt with bullying, a teacher that would vape in class, and I could go on. This school needs a lot of work to be turned around and that will have to come from administration. We’ve had some awesome teachers, Mrs. Ivey, Mrs. Winn, Coach Jones, Mrs. Treadwell, Dr. Jones, & Mrs. Oster. The root of the problem has got to be fixed with administration.

You need to look no further than the review posted by an 8th grade student in February 2007 to know how poor of an education students at NSM receive. It's loaded with incorrectly spelled words, poor grammar, poor punctuation and incorrect capitalizations. When speaking to teachers and staff, it's very typical to hear them say "have went" and "I seen." I've received notes home from the teachers with "there" used instead of "their" and other glaring grammatical and spelling errors. It was interesting that when I brought it to Mr. Davis' (the principal) attention, he didn't see anything wrong with what was written by his staff. Of course, he also graduated from NSM. Many of the same teachers who taught him are still teaching there. NSM is a fine example of why Alabama is always ranked at the bottom of the US states for education.
