  • Maryahduran80
"I lived here since I was in sixth grade and it's just a small cute town with friendly people and places to spend time with other people"
  • souza s.
"It is a predominantly working class community. The locals are mostly renters who are factory workers employed nearby Vernon. There is a lower middle class mostly tradesman who are either self employed or work for companies. There has been an increase of homeowners in the area. In addition with the 2007-2012 real estate market crash the demographics have been greatly shifted. This social flux ushered in a significant middle class that seems to be bourgeoning with small social pockets of affluent hipsters scattered throughout the city. This change can be seen at the local markets that now carry organic and environmentally conscious products as well as an increased selection of wines, craft beers, cheeses and exotic produce. Thus a sign of an educated palate vs. a big box retail generic. The schools are undergoing dramatic changes while switching to standardized tests that empirically measure aptitude and ability which are quantifiable versus classical subjective teaching. All schools are generally improving and meet or will meet state standards."
