5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorst experience I ever had with my son at this school. The ESE lady Bridget is the absolute worst. She has no passion or care for these exceptional students. Dont bring your ESE students here. They will not get the services they need. It's basically a glorified daycare as I've heard it called. I can count 2-3 teachers who actually care but I feel are limited to what they can provide for the students. The Enfield district is just as bad. You can call about a concern and be sent right back to the school which will not address the issues. If they did you wouldn't have to call the district. They go hand in hand. I feel Bridget has denied my son proper education at this school and should not run things anymore she's run her course how do you deny a child services then ask a parent to sign a disclosure form to get services they are entitled to within their rights and law. She will force you to withdrawal your child just so they don't have to follow procedures and protocols. It's sad. These kids are challenged enough and people like her make it harder for them. The nurses are not even fully educated to be there and do not follow protocols as well and the head nurse of the Enfield area is just as bad turning the cheek to things being done wrong and won't reply back until you get outside help to address things. Just the worst school and district I ever had to deal with. May be a good area but the school as a while has failed. Now I have to go back and undo all the messed up changes they did to my son's goals and services they felt he didn't need. I've heard from students how my son is treated and it's sad. I've seen a teacher in front of me talk to him wrong but told they are short staffed so he has to work with her. Be wary if your child needs ese services and you put them here.Parent Review2mo ago10 Reviews - Enfield Street School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a former student from this middle school, one of the worst experiences I have ever had. My Social Worker told me that my only choice to go anywhere in life was to join the military, the teachers are downright rude, when I showed my sister who is a junior the work I was being assigned in my 8th grade English classes she thought they made an error and had the assignments swapped with 10th grade. glad that I'm probably never seeing this district again. As my French teacher was supposed to teach, à bientôt Enfield!Other Review1y ago12 Reviews - Check out schools near 49 Laughlin Rd.

"It’s quiet and off the beaten path. Neighborhood is inviting and the school district is great. Wonderful town to raise a family in. We have been here 17 years and have enjoyed all of them. Great local eateries available. "

"The Ellington farmers market in town. I do know most of my neighbors and we do talk to each other. We don’t hang out though but do help each other out."

"There aren’t sidewalks and people speed on the road. I don’t even like walking on it, I drive to safe places to walk like cemetery and downtown Ellington or over to willington to the track "

"It’s a drive to anywhere. No public transportation. I’m lucky and only commute 4 miles but my job is part time with poor pay. For a real job you have to drive 30-45 mins to a larger more populated area. "

"Great schools with a nice small teacher to student ratio. Plenty of green space and sports fields. The recreation department has activities for all ages."

"We are 25 minutes from major highways . Farming community so smelly and farm tractors on roads ar commuting times. Tractor trailer training school nearby also uses our roads. Main road through town is becoming a very busy area with a lot of businesses and traffic, very uncharacteristic of what Ellington represents."

"Takes 20 minutes to get to the highways. Very rural, passes by cornfields and cow farm. Grocery, pharmacy, hardware and gasoline stores are 15 minutes away. Close to Massachusetts border and not a long drive to Connecticut or Rhode Island Beaches. Also a short drive to Northern New England for winter skiing."

"I commute on town roads to Vernon most days. There is rarely any traffic to slow you down. Are used to take the commuter bus out of Windsor locks to Hartford which was also very convenient."

"I have lived in Ellington for 55 years and it has changed in the last 10 years for the worse. People are not as nice, schools are not as good, zoning is out of control and the farm is disgusting."

"Ellington is a farm town that lacks many conveniences. Certain areas away from the farm smell are very pretty if you enjoy a rural lifestyle. "

"The area that I live in is not good for walking dogs as there are no sidewalks. I do see people walking their dog at Arbor Park in the center of town. Most homes in Ellington have sufficient property to allow the dog to have plenty of outdoor space roam. There are also a number of hiking trails in the area that allow well behaved dogs on a leash."
