About this House

At the end of a country lane in Northern Vermont sits this 5 bedroom, 2 bath Victorian home. You will marvel at the spacious main kitchen with lots of counter space, formal dining room and living room with bay window and french doors. Meticulously maintained over the years makes this a rare find. On a one acre lot with flower gardens of old and natural shade trees. Sit on the screen porch or at a picnic table outside the breezeway and enjoy summer. Presently used as a single family home but you can easily transition to a 2 unit home as all is in place. This home has had many updates of modern systems over the years with older features preserved-hardwood floors, gingerbread woodwork, bay windows, and french doors. Updates include new furnace, new windows, entire home rewired, newer roofs, and fresh paint. There is an attached barn style garage with plenty of storage space on the second level. There is also an additional garage building. All house lines are straight and sturdy. The level lawn areas and a sloping area will be fun in all seasons. You are just minutes away form Crystal Lake for kayaking and swimming and Burke Mountain for skiing and biking.

"A variety of holiday events! I haven’t lived here long enough to have enjoyed any of them yet. Our lake community spontaneously and frequently gathers to enjoy our waterfront activities and chat it up on beautiful days."

"very nice quiet and beautiful very friendly people nice weather and great lake veiws beatiful in all season good walking paths and alot of outdoors avtivities "

"The whole area is walkable but the road this property sits on is more hilly. Leash law in Barton Glover/West Glover and a local who complains if it is not adhered to (me). Walking, biking, jogging in these areas is almost meditative it is so beautiful. In my 60 years I have never found nicer neighbors than in Barton. Shopping is more troublesome for we don't have department stores save one smaller expensive store but Amazon is great. Grocery shopping is fine; we have both local markets and larger markets in Newport which is about 20 miles away. We do have farms thus manure spreading and if this bothers you rural Vermont is not the place for you but the farmer in the area tries to spread right before rain so generally you are only angry for a couple days while the tractors are speeding down the roads. Traffic is generally respectful and as you would expect in rural area. If you are not from Vermont and don't like cold do not come here because too many people have seen our beauty and fallen in love only to find they can't stand the temps; if you are from down south rent first and if you still love Vermont move in. Newspapers are terrible featuring high school sports and obits, but the web is great. Lots of wildlife. Drawbacks: gout weed, Japanese knotweed and burdock -constant battle if you like foes not on video games."
