As a classmate of Tara Hintze-Lawlor, I want to give her this as a guidance counselor being that I knew her growing up: I have never dealt with, known or covered a more inexorably conceited, condescending, factually wrong, name-dropping, dissent-intolerant, megalomaniacal, pompous, boastful, hypocritical, self-entitled, self-annointed, self-delusional, unilaterally rude, humorless, imperious and dishonest. School 2 initially has a "bad rap" for being a school with a higher population of special needs children. This is because our prek programs that include early intervention for prek3 and prek4 are housed at School 2. I've been with School 2 since my first child (who has been here since age 4 with an IEP since he was 2.5 years old. I saw my child come from being mostly non-verbal in kindergarten into a child who has since them graduated and over-achieves in exams and is able to express himself socially at the IS. I give alot of credit to his teachers who always communicated with me and guided me to how we can also help him at him. Two of my other children currently go to this school. They love going to school and they love their teachers. School Administration from the Principal, the Guidance Counselor, the Nurse, to the Custodians, have been thoroughly engaged. What I love most is that the after school clubs are mostly run by the teachers through PTA initiatives. I believe over the years there has been a growing sense of community and participation between the families, the admin, and teachers into making School 2 a truly special place for our kids. If you feel apprehensive about coming here...just give it a shot!

The school’s education system is very much above most schools in the country and state. Having New Jersey as one of the top states to have the best education. But the only reason to why we have it like this is because the amount of lack of emotional support the students receive. The school feels like a prison and there’s really no room to socialize with anyone. We get into class, learn, and leave. We have a three minute time to get from one class to another with leaves all the students in a hustle just so we don’t get detention for being late. Mr. Diaz, I hope you see this. But your ways have to change as a principle if you want to best interest in not only the students but teachers as well. Because this isn’t a military boot camp, it’s a school for children to learn and grow in their academics AND friendships. Please get better
