"There are many apartments and ADUS being build. The city may be changing more in the next 5 years. Parking will become a problem soon. "
  • Jzc5b7pgkb
"Quiet, safe, everything you need within a 2 mile radius. It’s boring and cookie cutter so it’s great for families, maybe too dull otherwise. "
  • Glennie97
"Lakewood is great for dog owners—no HOA restrictions, wide sidewalks, and a dog park on Centralia. If there’s a downside, it might be occasional street traffic during peak hours or a few areas lacking waste bins — but overall, it’s a solid place to have a pup. "
  • Desvil
"We still have first home owners and/or their relatives living in the neighborhood. Lakewood is close to everything, malls, beach, hills, and more importantly does not get too hot in the summer due to closeness to Long Beach."
  • Scott Snider
"Well, to be honest, I live in an area that may not be the greatest but overall it’s pretty good. I wish the police would patrol the area a little more often but I know they’re stretched pretty thin thanks to all those defund the police people. I’ve lived here over 12 years seen all kinds of different things going on. I would move if I could afford it but otherwise we’re OK."
  • Daniellebass94
"Great place to raise a family, nice neighborhood, neighbors turn to friends, lots of kids, good food is walking distance "
  • Jennifer Ponce
"The neighbors take care of each other and we have neighbors with the same age kids so my child is able to play outside a lot "
  • Devo
"All in all it’s a decent neighborhood it’s a lot of outsiders come over here to go through trash an a lot of mail box breaking and car breaking and theft there need to be a gate around to keep the theft down."
  • R9x5hrhrrg
"Technically some local parks don’t allow dogs, however, it is common to see people walking their dogs"
  • Trulia User
"They’ll like the wide pavements that are big enough to walk their dogs. It’s also very quiet and peaceful so it’s nice to take a walk in the morning and evening. "
  • Nicole W.
"Very welcoming and small community. Neighborhood watch is in effect. Not a lot of traffic, close to shopping and other amenities "
  • Jennasuz2002@yahoo.com
"Lakewood has summer concerts in the park, a carnival on Mother’s Day, and a tree lighting ceremony. "
  • Lodivina
"There are concerts in the park, trick or treating, a lot of open parks, there's a dog park, senor centers"
  • Jonealmft
"10 out of 10 Literally 20 or more restaurants within walking distance along with safe parks, schools, community pool and tennis courts. Oh, not to mention the zLakewood mama with plenty of shopping or employment opportunities !"
  • Edward G.
"ive lived here for 6 years no issues quite area close to the park and schools never had any problems people are friendly everyone is welcome "
  • Kamkrazy
"The people laid back and cool. People park on grass but it’s nice neighborhood. Lots of shops restaurants and a mall nearby"
  • Richard K.
"Public park Halloween carnivals. They hold a local mall Fourth of July block party for anyone to attend."
  • Jonealmft
"10 minutes by car to work. So many restaurants within walking distance, probably at least 20 or more, "
  • Joe.santos20
"It’s dog friendly. There is a dog park in the area. Most dog owners pick up after their dogs. "
  • Tijera M.
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for over 20 years and it’s definitely a quiet, family-friendly, and safe neighborhood. "
  • Tijera M.
"I love Lakewood! I never want to leave! It’s such a quiet, family-friendly, community-oriented city. Lakewood offers so many different activities, perks for residents, & events throughout the year, & for any age. In addition to safety, the city takes pride in cleanliness. Our parks & our public areas, are always well-kept. I also love it here because those of us that have been here for years know that neighbors still talk to one another here, & are very friendly! <3 Lakewood! "
  • Kayla B.
"Lakewood is clean , safe and great for families . ABC school district is highly sought after. Great community "
  • Hairblakewilliam
"Very friendly and the kids hang with friends without any hesitation of security. Neighborhood watch is great and informative to the community. Neighbors definitely have block parties with full attendance of community block"
  • Jonealmft
"Excellent! I only live a few miles from either of my two offices. Side streets all the way! Parks, shopping, churches, schools, and so many restaurants only steps away! "
  • Cesar U.
"Great blue ribbon schools in the area, availabilty of plenty of supermarkets, theater, access to freeways, and clean and orderly neighborhoods."
  • Trevor H.
"There’s a dog park less than mike away, lots of places to walk (schools, parks, etc.) Only downside (if there is one) is the volume of dogs. almost EVERYONE has a dog here"
  • Jasanchez1017
"This area is diverse with all races and ages. Great neighborhood for new families. Lots of parks and shopping nearby. Have been here for 15 years and love the neighborhood feel. "
  • Jennifer P.
"Fourth of July block party is always my favorite. Park events and fairs, a lot of family friendly activities. "
  • Emily T.
"All of them. Concert in the park Memorial Day 4th of July, Every event is fun and we enjoy this family friendly neighborhood "
  • Tyanagihara
"There are too many dogs that bark when you walk your dog down the street. The streets are well kept."
  • Rachel H.
"Lots of people walk around with their dogs and are very polite and friendly "
  • Tiya V.
"Loveeeee Lakewood everything about it! Everything and everyone is great! Everything is local! Stores, schools, parks and food."
  • Roachell H.
"There’s a dog park and many other dog friendly places nearby. Dog owners are often seen walking their pets down the street and at local restaurants. The down side is there are streets with heavy traffic and some speeding that may cause alarm to some animals."
  • Gwladys K.
"My community is great for retire or people that like to stay indoors. More development is happening soon so it’s up and coming in a way. It’s a bit far from big cities."
  • Sabrina L.
"Good Neighborhood, be aware that Lakewood is split into several districts, ABC is academically better"
  • Lauralilio
"I live in East Lakewood, which is very neglected by Lakewood. It is very different from the rest of Lakewood but the homes still try to sell for the same price. So most people pay Lakewood prices for a Hawaiian Gardens type neighborhood. "
  • Erica P.
"Safe neighborhood with street lights. People regularly go for walks and say hello to each other. Lots or kids and the ice cream truck still comes buy!"
  • Krista R.
"My commute is horrible because I live in Lakewood, work in downtown LA. But anything within the Lakewood, Bellflower, Cerritos, Long Beach area is easy commuting. "
  • Donspino
"We have a huge 4th of July block party every year, all the neighbors get together and all the kids come to play on the huge water slide "
  • Mahina N.
"Nothing that i know of is in this neighborhood. I'm on the outskirts of Lakewood close to Hawaiian gardens and it is not a safe part of Lakewood. i believe the best parts of Lakewood are areas near the mall. The Lakewood sheriff's have a bad reputation of not showing up on time when called. I'm near Rynerson park del amo and studebaker the cars like to do donuts and race down studebaker near centralia. My neighbors are constantly calling the police and they always show up when the car racers are gone. "
