Unfortunately its terrible the school is out of control

This school is very competitive and many students do well. But this seems to come more from the local community, where parents are very involved and academics are highly valued, than from the school itself. The neighborhood elementary schools show the same pattern.When it comes to social and emotional issues like bullying, the response has been weak. Even when problems are reported more than once, there is little follow up and it does not feel like student well being is a real priority.If academics are your only concern, the school looks strong. But if you also want a safe and supportive environment, this part may fall short.

I’ve never had issues with this school until 5th grade. They make the excuse that they are “preparing” the children for middle and high school but my teachers were never even close to how some of these teachers are. I know I’m not the only who feels this way. Instead of encouraging these children to learn in a positive way and according to their past slogan of “every child learns in a different way,” they instill fear and intimidation to my child who is shy, quiet and struggling in school. I have multiple incidents where my child has been told she was “screamed at” and is afraid to go to school because of the teachers. This is unacceptable. They are not accepting of children who struggle and instead has given nothing but trauma to my child (who they know is seeing a the school counselor for emotional support).
