5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMajority of teachers are helpful and have a lot of care for their students. Information in classes are relatively easy to retain when students put in the effort. Main problem with the school is the administration, college readiness, and safety. Administration wise, it’s mostly with Regina Montgomery. She’s known to go on long inappropriate rants towards students and staff over the intercom that include insensitive language and obsess over the idea of the schools “brand”. She’s more concerned with money and being stuck on traditions than making decisions that benefit the school and its growth, which is reflected in how its reputation has gone significantly downhill from the powerhouse it once was. Many students have also expressed not knowing how to prepare for college, especially ones that are first generation. While the school has a beautiful large campus, it is extremely open with little to no security compared to the past. They seem more concerned with whose car to tow from not having a parking pass than the safety of the school. There have been multiple times people have been able to come and go through the school, including a recent shooting. While I enjoyed my time at this school due to the teachers and experiences I had, there is a lot of improvement to be done for me to recommend it.Other Review2mo ago - Tapp Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy 3 children have gone to Tapp and 1 is still there. Dr. Thomas is a great principal and the staff offer help upfront if you need to communicate with them. This school is a great place if you believe in advancement and community. My son had a struggle last year in 1 class and his teacher got him up to speed and on AB honor roll. I would recommend Tapp for anyone looking for a quality Middle School. They are also Stem certified now. Very proud of them..Parent Review4mo ago - Varner Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAdministration is supportive and concerned for each student. They are always willing to lend a listening ear for parents, staff, and students. Each teacher my child has encountered has helped her growth as a student. I am pleased with my child's experience at Varner.Parent Review5y ago - Check out schools near 4607 Underwood Walk.
