6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWHUFSD is a reliable working/middle class district. They don't have a ton of money to spend on every student but they seem to do the best they can with the funding available to them. Like any other district, you're going to find some great people and experiences and some disagreeable ones. It's definitely not a dysfunctional district and WHHS is not a 'bad' school. It offers a ton of programs for students that are interested in seeking them out. (Their AP program is great). They've had graduating students receive scholarships and acceptances from places like Binghamton, Cooper Union, and even Harvard. The school has the programs available but It's really up to the student to push themselves to take their academics seriously. The school also participates in many community activities and social awareness. They have a great music program, science programs and a wonderful English program. PTA is very active as well. These are all good signs for a town school. Now it's up to the town's resident parents to inspire a larger number of their children to take advantage of these possibilities.Parent Review7y ago - Chestnut Street School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageChestnut street school is an excellent school. My daughter was well-prepared for first grade and her Kindergarten teacher was very knowledgeable. She always pushed her to the next level of learning. I was very pleased with her progress in reading and writing. She has developed an extreme love for reading different genres of literature and also enjoyed participating in the PARP (parents as reading partners) program and the PTA reflections program. Her arts project made it to the state level and she was ecstatic and quite honored as a Kindergarten student to reach such a level of distinction. Kudos to Chestnut Street! Keep up the good work!Parent Review9y ago - Check out schools near 459 Maren St #1.
