The principal doesn't even respond to emails or phone calls. The teachers are nice and seem to genuinely care about the kids. If the administration fails, how can the school function? 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love the engagement of the administration and the teacher experience has been largely positive. We came from a previous school district that was not responsive to the needs of our children and it has been a night-to-day improvement at Carpenter. My kids get the support they need and I don't feel like we have to be the primary drivers to help them succeed. There are many after-school programs, field trips, and club opportunities for kids and the community is friendly, diverse, and welcoming. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have one Scarlett alumnus and a rising 8th grader. I am a fervent supporter of this school and the work Gerald Vazquez and his team are doing there. The school has recently become a certified International Baccalaureate (IB) World school, and the teachers and curriculum are excellent. The administrators and teachers at the school truly care about and support the highly diverse population. Scarlett is still viewed as the ugly stepchild of the Ann Arbor Public Schools, but I am here to tell you there are great things going on here.Parent Review5y ago - Huron High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur kids never felt like they “had” to go to school @Huron. They understood and felt comfortable with going to school. The school explains very well the personal needs & goals they were trying to accomplish. All my kids were able to explain their goals & options. They teach a “worldly” view instead of only a “book” view which helped them want to learn. The staff is attentive & suppoettive to any changes with grades & never let grades to keep going down without intervention and offering help. As many kids as they have, it shows how good they are knowing many other schools with way less kids dont care if that happens until grades are failing.Parent Review1y ago
