4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am well aware that the student to teacher ratio is not reflective of actual class sizes. I am willing to post the truth. 22+ the majority of the time for each teacher. Rarely do they have support staff ( non-teacher helpers ) to alleviate the workload placed on teachers. It is not the teachers fault, I cannot blame them. In fact I am very fond of each staff member at the school. I have no idea where the blame for that lies. Seemingly ever other Monday ( something like that ) the school is closed for a teacher work day. Clearly they can't handle the work load with the student / teacher ratio. Really how effective is the instruction with ratio's like that. It shouldn't be a surprise the school offers emergency retakes on the SOL's if kid barely misses the "target". All school year my child scored very high in a subject, in fact they ended the school year with an A+ and it was noted they were above grade level. Sadly the SOL reflected differently ( DID NOT PASS ) . They were offered a retake which was denied in advance. IF the grades are good and declaration of advanced level is indicated....Why are we not scoring higher. A) not a good test taker? B) Teacher overworked just "giving" good reports? C) Wasn't adequately prepared for standards forced down the teachers throats? Will probably never know. Not like I am in a position to change schools if I even wanted to. If you have a child set to attend here...rest assured they will be cared for taught to the best of the abilities teachers are afforded. They will grow and become productive members of society as long as you do your part as well.Parent Review11mo ago

"Busy main road. Dogs have to be leashes or chained at all times. Landlords are really funny about the dogs as well and like to think private property is a housing authority. "

"Tons of methamphetamine and crime. My car and my partners car was almost broken into. My next door neighbors house was raided by SWAT. Constant drug transactions and police in neighborhood "

"I've lived here for 3 years and everyone is super nice and welcoming. I love living here! I recommend this area to anyone wanting to be close to the city but yet in the country. "

"Waynesboro is a pretty good town. Would I live here if mine and my fiancé's jobs weren't here? No. But I already live here, and i can't complain too much. It is very pretty, though there is a bit of a littering problem. Having lived in all three, I recommend Staunton or Verona over Waynesboro any day. "

"Waynesboro has a lot of vastly different neighborhoods. Some, especially the newer buildings, are very walkable and friendly, but the historic side of waynesboro is still developing, and personally, i wouldn't leave children under 14 unsupervised for long. "

"I commute to Charlottesville. It takes me 35 minutes each way, but it is an easy trip except when tbe weather is bad. Fog makes it especially difficult at the peak of Afton Mountain."

"We have trails. On any given day we see ten to fifteen pass our house. We have some behind fences. There are lease laws. We personally have two saved dogs. At times we stop and talk to neighbors with our dogs. There are a lot of different types. The dogs are curious about the geese. We have seven homes being built at one time. Prices are starting to rise. The neighbors dog was bond with my dog yesterday. New in the neighborhood."

"The people here are SO friendly! When we moved in to the neighborhood (on Chestnut Ave) our neighbors brought over cookies and welcomed us with open arms. Everyone looks out for each other it’s a great community,"

"Friendly neighborhood, we watch out for our neighbors and lend a helping hand when needed. We meet once a month for lunch to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Also play Canasta twice a month. Wellington condos, a great place to live!"
