This year there was a a group of students who were dosed with some type of drug and no parents were notified of the situation. My daughter had to tell me. I have also tried to reach out to my daughter teacher and counselor to see if she could get extra guidance and help and I never received any communication back until it was to late. They don’t care for the students.

Two Rivers K-8 is the best educational facility my children have ever attended. They get personalized attention and a holistic curriculum. Often times my children have had lessons that tie into one another across multiple subjects and then that same lesson has a corresponding zero cost activity planned using recycled or donated items. I love that the school uses sustainability as a guideline for education. It is amazing that this small school promotes zero waste, especially given it is part of a district that is known for lavish spending and resource hemorrhaging. In Fairbanks, there is no reason for schools to be blowing financial resources to buy fetal pigs when they could learn from two rivers staff and harvest in season wild game for zero cost dissection and science lessons.. oh wait, and use that same activity to teach about history, Alaskan culture, environmental safety, recycling, food insecurity, microbiology, subsistence living, reading, writing, and physical education. We purchased our home in two rivers because of the proximity to the school and because of the abundance of personalized educational experiences and community involvement with the school. My child had gone from having behavior issues to making straight a’s and getting elected to student council. My only problem with 2 rivers is with the District its self. I have seen the school loose students and teachers because the district started targeting the school for closure. I have witnessed educators word for word say that they don’t want to leave but the district is not being supportive of the school remaining open and this they had to take a position elsewhere for job security. I’ve also seen two rivers hire new teachers only to have the district reassign the same teacher to a different facility and then publicly claim that the school is hard to staff.

Got bullied and the school didn’t do anything, nothing. The kids there treated everyone else bad. The teachers were nice and how they did everything in the school was good but just their bullying policy. I’ve had so many friends go to a different school because how they don’t care about their kid’s getting bullied. If I could I wouldn’t even have put one star.
