The leadership--both principal and teachers--is outstanding. We have been pleased with our teachers and how much our child has grown. Hubbell does a great job with gifted children and we have been especially pleased with the innovative methods teaching reading comprehension. The parent community is very active and it has been easy to develop friendships by participating in the many class room and school functions. Too much focus on woke and unimportant issues and not enough on providing children with a solid education and discipline. I have no idea how the current principal got the position, he seems useless, and is a poor communicator. "Beaverdale is the hidden gem of Des Moines. Wonderfully unique and character filled houses, beautiful big trees and fantastic people. It is like a little village - safe friendly and outstanding to live in. Close to everything but hidden enough away to feel that it is it's own place."

"The "Chamberlain Heights" neighborhood in the Waveland Park Association is fantastic! Neighbors are active with yearly block parties and you meet so many people as they walk their pets, or stroll over to the Shops At Roosevelt."
