Where do I even begin. Pick-up is chaotic and unsafe. On one occasion, my 5- and 6-year-old were allowed to walk across the intersection of Douglas and Mockingbird. By the grace of God, I happened to be at that intersection at the time. When I brought this to the principal’s attention, I was told it was my children’s fault for not following instructions to turn back toward the school. They are five and six years old.How did both children believe their number was called, leave their designated area, walk out the front door, and reach an intersection without any adult stopping them or verifying where they were going? During pick-up there are adults and children everywhere, yet it appears no one truly has oversight of what is happening. This is extremely dangerous.Additionally, the bullying is severe and concerning. My children were the youngest in their classes during our first year at Bradfield, as many students are held back. It raises serious questions about whether this practice is being used to artificially inflate academic scores.

There’s a lot of negative reviews here by parents of students who seem to have several psychiatric issues. It’s not the job of a school system to treat your kid, nor can they control everything that is said or done by the other kids. I have a kid with Asperger’s who got his share of teasing, and another who’s more the all-star type. The school did fine for both of them. Life isn’t always 100% “fair” and the complainers here seem to have missed that lesson somewhere. Overall the kids and teachers are super nice and a lot more gracious than what I experienced in the 80s. Kids will be kids, and if you’re wanting a perfect holding environment where your kid is guaranteed to never be insulted, I guess go pay for that. But let me warn you: The Real World awaits your kid. Might be a good idea for them to learn how to handle things now, rather than be misled by your good intentions.

I don't know if you saw my previous review, but I LOVE this school. This school is AMAZING and my son comes home everyday satisfied with his learning. The learning environment is supportive and everyone is friends with each other. One especially amazing teacher is Mr. Tannenbaum, the director of orchestra. My son adores his class, and loves playing viola with his best friends. Thank you so much to the teachers and administration at McCulloch for making this school an amazing place to learn.
