6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend this school. My daughter was targeted and singled out. Was told to put her phone in her locker, was escorted by a teacher like she was some criminal. Her phone was stolen out of her bookbag and was still located at the school. The sheriff and principal said they couldn't do anything about it and "best of luck." Her debit card was also stolen with it. They had no sense of urgency, looking at cameras and giving no information. I would not recommend especially being African American. They do not careParent Review1mo ago - Staley High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my experience, this school did not prepare my son for college. There were programs that I never knew new about. My son had an IEP but still did well in class and and had a social skills class. He graduated with a 3.4 GPA. When he went to college he was unprepared to handle college life and his grades suffered greatly. He received straight A's in all his math classes in high school but he could only manage a C at community college. He may have been coddled too much in high school so the transition was too great for him.Parent Review10mo ago - GATEWAY 6TH GRADE CENTER

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI hope NKC gets rid of the 6th grade centers. It's a bad concept. Parents are not invested in a school that is only attended to one year. NKC combines two feeder patterns for one year and then rips them apart again the next year. Children are assigned a team. My child knew no one on this team and has not seen a single friend outside her team since the beginning of school. Communication is poor between the school and parents. As in any school, some teachers are great and others aren't. I feel like everyone is just trying to get through the one year they are there. Disciplinary issues are a problem.Parent Review2y ago - RISING HILL ELEMENTARY

"The neighborhood throws multiple parties throughout the year to bring a sense of connection between neighbors. Neighbors can be seen hanging out in their driveways together. The park is inviting for children of all ages, the pools are as well! We stay connected on our neighborhood website, in an attempt to ensure all is safe and sound. There are walking trails and ponds that provide additional activities. "

"It’s a great location. Our neighborhood is close to everything. We can get to the airport in 20 minutes and downtown in about the same amount. We are close enough to Liberty to get the small town feel but still in Kansas City for that larger feel. With all of that said the number one reason we live her me is the school district. "
