Description

This exquisite residence is discreetly situated on an exceptionally tranquil street in Friendship Heights, mere moments from the vibrant shopping district and metro station. The property boasts year-round curb appeal, inviting guests to ascend the steps to a captivating wraparound porch, where the entry door eloquently conveys a sense of quality and structural integrity. Upon entry, the living room exudes an atmosphere that encourages one to shed their shoes, settle in, and momentarily escape the burdens of the outside world. The dining room is resplendent, evoking the aesthetic richness reminiscent of the opening scenes of a "White Lotus" episode. The kitchen is an intimate space, harkening back to the values of Mid-Century Modern design, emphasizing the charm of a closed kitchen. Ascending to the upper level, the continuity of rich hardwood floors leads through three bedrooms and a full bathroom, each enriched with original door hardware. The pull-down attic entices with the potential for transformation into a finished living area, characterized by vaulted ceilings and original sunburst windows. The lower level of this distinguished residence encompasses an open lounge area, a full bath, a washer and dryer, and convenient access to both the garage and the fenced backyard. With the availability of ample street parking, the garage may serve as an ideal storage space or workshop.

"American University Park is a very special place. We're a neighborhood that sticks together, although we may disagree. It's a nice environment."
  • Karyn W.
"It’s a nice suburban neighborhood in the city. Close to shopping and restaurants as well as the metro. "
  • Kyle P.
"A high-end town in NW DC, Cathedral Heights offers mini shopping areas and restaurants, the wonderful youth of American University, and of course, the National Cathedral. Smaller churches lie blocks from eachother, scattered throughout the neighborhoods. The people are friendly and children are seen everywhere. There is plenty of foliage, where woodland creatures can be seen scurrying or prancing. For the most part this area can sustain itself, with smaller commerce, businesses, even [Homeland Security], all in its vicinity. I see no reason to leave. "
  • amidei
"American University Park (aka Tenleytown) is one of the loveliest neighborhoods in Washington, DC. It is a quiet, leafy, family-oriented community near excellent transportation and restaurants. Lots tend to be large and well-tended. For all these reasons, homes tend to sell very fast."
  • Randistirn
"This area is walking distance to the metro and wonderful Wisconsin area shopping and restaurants. Friendly people and on street parking always available.Georgetown and downtown D.C. close by also."
  • wordpix
"After living in a rural area, I came back to DC to live with and help my elderly parent. I thought I would hate DC and this neighborhood for all the typical reasons, like it's crowded, dirty, polluted, noisy. I found, surprisingly, that I love living here and this particular building is fantastic. The neighborhood is safe, has great schools, it's walking distance to shops, nightlife, AU and Metrorail, or you can take a bus, the traffic moves well (except at the height of rush hour), it's very clean, there's parking on the street and around this building, there's a park down the street and you can hike all the way to the Potomac, it's not far from the museums and Kennedy Center (I've ridden a bike and taken Metro), it's almost in Georgetown but without the high prices, smallish dogs are allowed, it's close to the C&O Canal and Capital Crescent Trail----well, this is as good as city living gets. I thought I would be pining for my former rural life but no---this is a great building in an excellent and affordable building, in a super city."
