The Little Red House is a vintage 1918 home built right after the Cloquet fires of 1918 with help from the Red Cross. These sturdy little homes were constructed for occupancy by families who lost their larger homes to the fire, to live in while their larger home were rebuilt, typically on the same piece of land. This house has been thoughtfully updated, with newer electrical and plumbing systems and restored pressed tin wall covering . It is fully furnished, with all utilities, bedding, towels, dishes, pots, pans and utensils included. Heat, electric, water, sewer, garbage service and snow removal all included in rent. Suitable for one person occupancy. No indoor smoking. This property is located in Cloquet's southeast residential area, close to Hwy. 33 and Interstate 35. There are a number of shopping, laundry and dining options within walking distance. The Carlton County Airport is two miles away, Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College is three miles, and Jay Cooke State Park is five miles from the house. The Little Red House sits 20 feet behind the main house on this property, where landlord lives. This is a quiet residential neighborhood.
