Just a toxic school with no support for students

I think the scores are high because the community has so many driven families doing extracurricular academics outside of school. Some teachers are really great. Hit or miss. Overall those teachers are underappreciated by the community. And unfortunately the community isn't very close and not well connected with each other. The advanced placement classes are a big disappointment because the testing isn't a good gauge of the smarter kids. More gauged to whoever prepares their child with the testing platform techniques. School itself is very test focused and child's worth wrapped in those scores. Many kids this young simply aren't good testers yet. I'd rather my child use all that revaluating time instead in engagement in mastering a topic they are learning. They did seem to be very supportive of kids that are behind and not getting a strong foundation at home. Good for a public school. Really wish it had a strong, supportive community.

Giving this a 1 star as there are teacher(s) in this school who've historically did nothing about students harrassing other students and at times even made it worse for the harassed students. On top of that, reporting it to the administration won't do any good as they'll just adopt a teachers defending other teachers, coworkers defending other coworkers stance. If you file a complaint via a phone call, they just leave your complaint on the backburner indefinitely and we ended up having to physically go to the school to get an answer just for it to be ultimately unsatisfactory. If you care about the well-being of your child, keep them away from this school. The staff here have zero sense of accountability for their own actions
