I strongly believe this is an above average school. Of course, like any high school, it has its issues but overall the teachers want to support you and the administration is there to help you. You will succeed at this school and beyond if you put in the effort. AP and honors classes are rigorous and taught by excellent teachers. At those levels homework is a lot, but doable if you are dedicated. There are great opportunities for leadership, community service, extracurriculars, clubs, athletics, etc. The music department is fantastic, as is track and field and cross country. I'm glad for the time I spent at this school.

Killingworth Elementary School exceeded our expectations of everything we wanted in a developmental stage of life for our kids. Both are currently in HK Middle School and were/are more than prepared by KES. Grade-wise they are both at the straight-A level and are socially involved in many programs/athletics the school has to offer. KES afforded them this foundation to thrive.

Unbelievable support for students. 2 full time counselors, full time school psyc, and full time social worker. Plus a therapist for kids with a higher level of need. Classes are very rigorous. Classes that have a lot of kids who need support have para educators and teachers on standby to help. Our family is from out of state and are overly impressed by the ratios and people willing to be engaged in helping kids. Nowhere is a perfect match for all families and students of course, but we feel lucky to have found this gem of a school district and community!
