"Just friendly people, we do not do a whole lot together. We will go on hikes sometimes and do cookouts. "
  • Monica
"We love living here, moved from Albuquerque. Beautiful open space and our home is surrounded by woods. It is quiet and peaceful. We have gorgeous views. Well worth the extra time to commute to Abq "
  • Monica
"Mostly school organized events, some live music and events at restaurants or bars. We don’t have typical neighborhood events because we are quite spread out. "
  • Rabhekaumae
"No public transportation here. You have to work 30 to 90 minuets away. The school head office people suck"
  • mweisend
"We raised two teenagers here off the grid and in the woods. There is mountain biking and hiking in the Cibola National Forest right out the back door. We really enjoyed the wildlife and the breeze whispering in the pines on cool mountain nights. We were off the grid but with all the modern conveniences. Loved it. "

"if you don't mind the drive, seclusion and lack of options it is perfect"
  • Tablazon r.
"We live in Tablazon were this home is located. Love this quiet neighborhood. Love the natural forest, love the neighbors and all of the sights! Wonderful quiet and relaxing living!"
  • 5 H. H.
"We've lived in the 5 Hills area of Tijeras for over 5 years. We walk our dogs on the amazing trails in the adjoining forests. We enjoy the quiet area with 2-3 acre homesites. There is an active community group with email exchanges and regular meetings. People wave when they go by. It's a friendly, safe neighborhood. Only traffic is people who live there or someone dragging their horse trailer to get on the trails. Great place to retire. 15-20 minutes via I40 to malls/restaurants/groceries or whatever else ABQ can provide. 30 minutes to a major airport. Yet that all stays in ABQ on the other side of the pass. We just get the mountain views, sunsets, and green forest. Not the hustle or crime of the big city. Pretty apparent just by looking at a map. Wasn't initially thinking I would retire here but now thinking I will."
