The people that live here are for the most part decent and hard working and the neighborhood has an active community council where residents can get involved or have their voices heard. The community has a mix of people from every walk of life and is one of the most diverse in Anchorage. There are areas of concern surrounding some parts of the neighborhood where social service agencies provide services and undesirable negative externalities remain unmitigated. Yet in those areas a person can still feel safe however although I wouldn't want to own a home or business adjacent. These areas that are challenging and the others this community face are not insurmountable. The neighborhood has easy access to parks, trails, sports complexes as well as venues for concerts, sporting events and other cultural attractions. Someone looking for a place to live and grow with a community and make a difference in the world would do well to consider Fairview. The future of Anchorage passes through Fairview."
