The teachers at Prairie Ridge are, for the most part, great. I've encountered plenty of caring, wonderful teachers over the years that my child was there. However, the school as a whole has no systems, no communication, and no family engagement. Discipline is very hit or miss, with zero consistency. My child was bullied relentlessly, and very little was done about it. The principal does not return calls or respond to emails, and actively hides from responsibility. Once we moved to a neighboring school in the same district, I was amazed by the difference. Weekly newsletters from the Principal that are engaging, invitations to engage with the school, and actual follow-through from the administrators. My child now looks forward to going to a school that celebrates learning.

Loy Norrix has a lot of great teachers and students. My kids enjoyed their high school experience at Loy Norrix.

For my experience at this school they were dirty, there were roaches in the gym and food wrappers and water bottles in the bleachers and left over popcorn from the basketball games. Their students were very disrespectful, a lot of physical altercations with not only one student there were multiple involved. There was a lot of bullying and teasing. Maple Street Magnet School For Arts is not recommended to send your child.
