About this House

Between Berkeley, West Highland, Sunnyside and Highland, is Harkness Heights, one of Northwest Denver's best-kept secrets. Tucked among tree-lined streets and character-filled homes, 4250 Hooker Street offers the charm of a classic Denver bungalow paired with a location that's hard to beat. Blocks to neighborhood parks, local restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and everyday conveniences, you'll love having so much of Denver's vibrant lifestyle so close. Spend weekends exploring nearby Tennyson Street, Sloan's Lake, Edgewater Public Market, Highland's hot spots, or downtown Denver—all just minutes away. Inside, hardwood floors and tall ceilings anchor this timeless red brick bungalow, details that made Denver's early homes beloved. A welcoming foyer opens to the living room, where a large picture window frames views of the front yard, along with two vintage accent windows. Connected to the living room, the dining area offers original built-ins and a unique curved wall of windows. The kitchen includes a corner sink overlooking the backyard, and pantry and adjoining laundry/mudroom, adding storage and functionality. One of the property's standout features is the double lot, providing an abundance of outdoor space that's increasingly difficult to find in Denver. Garden, entertain, play, expand, or simply enjoy Colorado's sunshine. The flagstone patio creates the perfect setting for summer BBQs, morning coffee, or evenings spent with friends. A one-car garage, sprinkler system, newer windows, and mature landscaping add to the home's appeal. Whether you're looking to move right in and enjoy its classic character or gradually make it your own over time, this home offers an opportunity that's becoming increasingly difficult to find in Denver—a charming bungalow on a double lot in an established neighborhood close to everything. It's also just minutes to I-70 for your mountain get-aways. Urban convenience, neighborhood charm, and room to dream await at 4250 Hooker Street.

"It’s an extremely walkable neighborhood with Michelin star restaurants? Great bars, Tennyson shops, dog parks, 3 great parks and playgrounds, so much entertainment within reach! "
  • AC
"I used to love this neighborhood, but it has gone downhill the past couple of years. If I had children, I would not feel comfortable letting them play in the front yard due to cars consistently driving over the speed limit. "
  • Trulia User
"I work in Boulder-do it’s 30 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic on US36. Not too bad most days. My partner works downtown, and his commute is 12 to 15 minutes."
  • Trulia User
"There a lot families and everyone is extremely nice. Restaurants and shops are line the street of Tennyson"
  • Trulia User
"It's a very safe neighborhood with great schools and day cares. Lots of young families with kids as well!"
  • Trulia User
"So many dogs! It’s very dog friendly. Tough to leave the house without seeing one on the street. :) "
  • Kweissinger
"There's a dog park at Berkeley Park, next to the rec center, easily walkable from most parts of the neighborhood"
  • Jessica S. W.
"I work here and as far as safety it seems pretty safe neighborhood. People walk their dogs, kids walk with caretakers "
  • Jane.ballweg
"I work from home, but downtown is close, and it’s not terrible getting to Broomfield, Boulder, etc. either."
  • Lajarami
"the neighborhood has mostly older couples and nice houses - not many families. some friendly people some not so much."
  • Jon C.
"I have lived here for two years but lived just outside of the neighborhood for more than 10 years. This is a great family friendly neighborhood. "
  • digineer
"Highlands area of Denver, chock full of restaurants, public transportation, close to I-70 and I-25, fantastic night-life, plentiful coffee shops, easy access to DIA in 25 min."
  • Belinda D.
"3 lakes so close to walk, fish, play, boat,.. parked downtown at the courthouse in10 minutes,.. all amenities .. stores, gyms, Dr.s, parks, pool, vet, music, art, food, libraries, schools, etc. easy walking distance..... plenty of school options besides DPS..like Cesar Chavez, Magon, Holy Family, St. Catherines, Arrupe,.. and of course the star in the crown..Regis Univ. ... I-70 and I-25 easy access, mature trees and other landscaping, variety of housing options and styles... What is not to love??? !!! "
  • Rick F.
"Great neighborhood within minutes of Downtown Denver and Tennyson Street."
  • Amishrugger
"I live(d), I moved to another area for 2 years, and couldn't move back fast enough. I have lived in this neighborhood for 4 years total, and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I caters to all age groups, life status, gender, race, etc. It is close to all highways, has some amazing bars and restaurants, but most of all safe! I have been to a lot of great neighborhoods in Denver, but I keep moving back here, between the cost, the safety, the accessability, and the great things to do in the area. I plan on living in this area for a long time!!"
  • CaseyKnowsColorado
"Only 5 Short Blocks to Tennyson St. Sprouts market is very close by and a short commute to downtown."
  • Stephenkohlbeck1
"My wife and I have lived near Tennyson and 39th for over 5 years and love it. We can walk to over a dozen private restaurants, a health food market, yoga, parks, art galleries and more. Our last house was 1.5 miles away. That's how great this part of town is. A lot of young families, diverse group of people, hip. We live on the corner and see people walking throughout the day. We consider almost half the people on our block friends."
