What Locals Say about Merritt

  • Trulia User
"Bus, bike, drive, Bart, Muni, walk or run…. Pick the cheapest, fastest, or prettiest!I prefer biking alongside the waterfront!"
  • KW222
"Great neighborhood. Convenient to the lake and public transportation. A few nice restaurants and coffee shops around. Neighbors are pretty friendly for the most part. There is sometimes a sketchy element to the area and I have found needles, trash, shoes, etc dumped outside my apartment windows and have witnessed 2 violent fights on the street in the past 5 years. So as lovely as it is here I’d suggest to just be aware and cautious of what’s going on around you. Don’t leave anything in your car. Don’t walk around at night. "
  • Melissa
"Up and coming. Lots of new restaurants and bars. Amazing view and access to Lake Merritt. Close to Bart."
  • May E.
"Beautiful view, but a high-traffic area with very difficult parking. Proximity to Lake Merritt BART is great, and I generally feel safe walking after dark. "
