Excellent experience. I believe this site is a bit out of date in regards to test scores. They were trending up when I moved to the area in 2007 and were right on par with Midview, North Ridgeville and North Olmsted by the time I moved away in 2018 from my understanding.

The Elyria City Schools offers a wide range of classes for general education as well as many Honors and AP options and dual enrollment classes. They have over 60 clubs that all students are welcome to join. Their band, drama, and other arts programs are second to none. They send children to the top universities in the country. There was a student a few years ago that was chosen to go to Sweden to work on the CERN Large Hadron Collider. He was one of only ten college students chosen throughout the country and he credits his Science teacher at Elyria High for sparking his interest in Physics. More than one student has come back to teach at Elyria High due to the influence of their teachers. There are an impressive number of students graduating with Top Honors and millions of dollars are awarded every year for scholarships. They have a 90% graduation rate which is practically unheard of in an urban district. If you want your child learning in a diverse environment with many opportunities and taught by an outstanding, highly qualified staff in a new state of the art building I would highly recommend Elyria High School.

zero tolerance for bullying is a great aspect of this school, the teachers care, I got a call from a teacher when there was a program that would benefit my son, he just wanted to make sure my son didn't miss out. I love that my son goes there, and my other child will as well. Staff, students and parents work together to make the school a benefit for all students.
