"Quiet neighborhood, friendly people everywhere. Me and my grandson meet new people at the park and have been able to have reciprocal play dates. Low crime rate!!! Excellent first responders!! They are quick!! It’s wonderful to know that when my grandson goes out to play with his new friends that he is safe in the back yard. This is a great place for that perfect small town feeling that I had growing up. "

"Being by the water is what makes this area unique. yes there are many nearby towns with water but there are boat toars, ice fishing, many small beaches to go to and they even shave the ice in winter for ice skating! it's an awesome neighborhood and the people are great. "

"Island Lake is a quiet bedroom community with great local pride. There's the Cornfest, Venetian Night, Lakefest, Carnivals, Fall Fesitval, Spring Craft Show, Concerts in the Park and many more activities. There are excellent restaurants in Island Lake and a great local grocery store. "
