There are a select few Teacher's that have an issue with showing authority but overall the teachers are nice and educated. The school definitely needs a lot of renovations from it's age. 3 year's straight now at each open house that is held in the gymnatiam there has been no AC. The main thing that stands out is the athletics. Athletics is not judged on pure talent of the sport like it is supposed to be. It is based on who knows who, 'example' an 8th grader that is very good and extremely talented and that has played volleyball for year's has went to try outs for 6th, 7th and 8th grade year's. Everyone sees how obvious it is that this child is extremely talented and there should be no doubt that this child should make the team. Instead it is the coaches pets and the pets closest friends that make the team and the most talented player's get sent home. I have witnessed this for 3 year's and I am not alone. There are numerous other parents that have witnessed the exact same thing. This not only hurts the school and the team but it devistates the gifted child that should have no doubt made the team. It's very sad but there are coaches here that choose there team this way and it is just not right so be careful, especially if your child is sensitive to favoritism over talent. This is just a heads up and a little information about what goes on in the athletics department at this middle school.

The score 9/10 is only because pressure is placed on the teachers and students to provide high test scores. The school is a toxic environment for teachers and students. There are some slivers of positive aspects of the school but everything trickles down from poor leadership which is the current principal. The teachers and students feed off the negative energy that the principal exudes. She treats the students like they are mini adults instead of children. She needs retraining. The teachers perform poorly due to the stress they feel from principal. If your child goes here…. Stay involved. Ask questions and ask principal what she did about a situation that you went to her about. Often she does not follow up and gaslights. She has more of an authority type leadership. Definitely not well suited for middle school. One time she said “ you are an embarrassment” to a child. Not appropriate to say.

Staff is extremely punitive and unhelpful to those working in the schools that are actively involved in helping students.
