Description
This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from March 22, 2024
This serene 1 acre waterfront property offers a fantastic opportunity to build your dream home or vacation getaway. Located just 22 miles from downtown Baton Rouge, the property boasts stunning large trees and offers direct boat access to both Bayou Manchac and the Amite River. From there, you can easily explore the beautiful waterways leading to Lake Maurepas, Lake Pontchartrain, and even the Gulf of Mexico. Whether you enjoy fishing, boating, or simply being surrounded by nature, this property offers it all. One important consideration is that any dwelling constructed on the site must be elevated 22' above mean sea level to comply with parish requirements. However, the site itself is already approximately 8' above mean sea level, and it even features a 20' X 17' wooden floating platform that can float up to 15' above the ground. This platform can accommodate a small cabin. It's worth noting that buildings of less than 200 sq ft do not require plan approval from the parish. In addition to the peaceful waterfront setting, this property offers the convenience of being only minutes away from stores, restaurants, and medical facilities. Lot has private well, cable, and electricity access. You can have the best of both worlds - a tranquil retreat surrounded by nature, with all the amenities, and Ascension parish schools just a short drive away. Let your imagination run wild and envision the endless possibilities. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to create your own piece of paradise.

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI moved here last year, now in the eighth grade. It took an hour and a half for me to even get my schedule. The uniform rules are so strict. You make these rules to protect kids, but they're really just hurting their pride. We have to wear strictly navy tops with khaki bottoms. No scrunchies. No jewelry. Nothing to show that I have personality. Not even colored socks, man. Not to mention the teachers respond to all the wrong things. So many girls at this school wear skirts that are literally as long as their underwear. But no, we need to focus on the scrunchies! Get over yourself. I believe that students should be allowed to have a little bit of fashion freedom. If they don't get the freedom they need, they'll rebel. Also, restricting fashion does hurt the student's confidence. They don't get the opportunity to show the real them. Onto the teachers. My technology teacher knows nothing about technology. Don't get me wrong, she's great- carefree, fun, keeps the students' interests in mind- but don't you think we should have a teacher that knows what they're doing? Not to mention, almost all of the teachers I've met have had just left us with videos to learn off of. They taught us NOTHING. The best teacher I had was Mrs. Gouner. She was my seventh grade teacher. You need to give her a raise or promote her. She cared deeply about her students and had the perfect personality to be a teacher. Not only is she caring, she is also the perfect amount of strict you need to be with a student. She had us write notes and such. I hope she gets the attention she needs. Now, lastly, the lunch. Many reviews I see on here are about how bad it is. That is not true. Most of their food is actually quite decent. I think the burger needs to be erased from my memory, though. It CHOKED me. I'm not lying. The bread is so thick and the meat... what the heck is in that thing? Also, we get ten minutes to eat. The lines are so long that they take all of lunchtime to get through them. One time I had 3 minutes to eat. Not kidding. They gave us five extra minutes... do you really think that's enough?Student Review3y ago - Oak Grove Primary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is great it's so much better than my old one. At my old school they would allow kids to do what ever they want and the kids would sneak in phones without anyone knowing. At this school they are much more responsible, caring, kind and treat others well. The staff is great and the teachers are great to.Parent Review2y ago - Dutchtown High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love it at Dutchtown! I'm currently a sophmore, and the majority of my teachers have all been absolutely amazing and supportive. They really care about your success and want to help however they can. The club experiences are also really good. I'm in the Spanish and Be The Change club, and both are extremely inclusive and just fun in general. There are so many opportunities and programs to be a part of, and its just a fun place to be.Student Review3y ago - Check out schools near 41390 Oak Harbor Rd #7.
