WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!! These last 3 years have been a total nightmare!!! Constant fights that not even the staff knows about,...this let's you know the lack of supervision. Every semester a teacher would quit or get fired. Teachers are just not happy here!!! They're not motivated to teach!!!....but it's not there fault,...it's the leadership! The principal that left a couple of months ago would bully my child! Blame them for things they never did! We had a meeting and she literally was just aggressive with the way she spoke. I had to tell her to calm down we're not attacking you. My comment was absolutely pointless because she just kept going and was trying to convince me how misbehaved my child was. My child's counselor then called me on the side and said well that was a waste of time. Your son is not what she's perceiving him to be. Because of the horrible experience we had our son will absolutely not be attending Culver City Highschool.

This is my high school school alma mater and I am just sickened by the way it has been allowed to fall into disrepair. I walked through the campus a few months ago and it looked like an abandoned property being left to fall into shambles. If they don't care about the morale of the students, they cannot convince me they care about the quality of their education. I can't complain about the quality of the academics because education has nationwide is in an awful state. People no longer come out of school educated in general. But this situation with Culver High is dire. The property value here in Culver City is sky high. Why does this school look worse than any low income area school in an a 100 mile radius? It's embarrassing. This school district is a swamp that is in serious need of draining.

We could not be happier with this amazing school community. It won the designation of being a CA Distinguished School for 2025. The academic program, SIP program, and social emotional learning are very strong here. The Spanish Immersion program is amazing, with some veteran teachers who have been at the school a long time and know their stuff. Our Spanish-speaking child's language development is so much stronger since starting at this school. The community is very diverse in terms of race and class - our child has many different friends from homes and cultures both similar to hers and different. This school is also much smaller than the other language immersion school in the district because there are less classes per grade level. This means that our child is known by all adults on campus and that supervision is strong in various settings on campus. The community feels intimate and supportive. This school has also invested in additional counselors and this support is available to kids who might need it for a range of reasons. Our child saw the counselor with other students in a small group that lasted several weeks. She came home talking about the different tools they learned for emotional regulation - all in child friendly, fun terms!We highly recommend this school. If you are on the fence between this school and the other Spanish Immersion school in the district, know that the curriculum is the same at both schools and that there are many experienced teachers on La Ballona's campus, as well as a committed principal who has been part of the community for a long time. We think this school is a hidden gem!
