My daughters teacher would talk about things in front of me...regarding missing books ect i had no idea about.. and treat me like I was a child...when she should have pulled me aside and spoke with me privately.. After my daughter left the school and I had to return for a meeting...the teacher sat there with her arms crossed while her and the principal would exchange weird looks with each other...very weird energy.I didn't like it. I think some of these people at these schools think they are above you...have no respect you are the adult and the parent and they label you for being different and then smile in your face. The speech therapist seems to be the only notable person at this school and nonjudgmental. Edison also needs a playground for the kids to play on...they have one that the kindergarteners are only allowed to play on...no baseball field and its located next to an adult book shop and strip club...they cannot get the strip club out of there because of zoning laws...Parent Review11y ago - Hoover High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a substitute teacher, and recently had a single day assignment at this school. Let me start off by saying that I am a fully credentialed teacher, and have subbed at the vast majority of middle schools within San Diego Unified. My experience at this school was nothing short of shocking. Every school no matter where you go has the classroom "handfuls," but at this school these students have zero respect for adults and lie to teachers like it's a knee jerk reaction. Very sad state of affairs. Apparently there are no consequences at this school, and you can tell that from the attitude of the trouble makers. It's probably a school that subscribes to the notion of "restorative justice." It's sad that the school lets the classroom trouble makers ruin the educational experiences of the majority of students who genuinely appreciate the value of education. The funny thing is that I had subbed at Mann Middle School down the street the day before, and it was a night and day difference. Like I tell people all the time, the atmosphere of the school dictates everything. From the administrators, to the resource assistants, and teachers. "most people don't clean after their dogs and some family dogs run loose on the street. The grass is almost extinct. The side walks are crack and people drive too fast. There are blind spots on many corners. "
