HISTORY
This unique property has a story to tell. Gold Bar was originally occupied by the native Skykomish people to whom we honor as the original stewards of the land. Western prospectors later came in 1869 after miners found trace amounts of gold in the river gravel. Over time, Gold Bar became an offbeat getaway spot for those seeking to fish and hunt in the area.
The property itself has evolved over many owners and renovations since first being constructed in 1956. The inquisitive eye might even notice the oddly placed electric panel located by the dining table. In an earlier stage of the property, that space was simply the garage and the entire wing of the cabin where the primary bedroom now resides did not exist. Somewhere on the property itself is also a buried concrete bunker from the Cold War era!
In the more recent past, previous owners have attempted to use the property to live off the land with subsistence farming and raise horses, goats, and chickens. Prior to becoming the game room, the detached garage space was at various points used as an illicit marijuana farm, a boat parts ecommerce business, and a more traditional garage shed full of tools and dirt bikes.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is not a safe school I do not recommend it as the principal, substitute assistant principal, and Councillor have made me feel like a fool and that I was being dramatic when reporting other students for my safety involving me almost getting jumped and I have been threatened by two other students that they were going to "get rid of" me. The office did not do anything until my parents physically went down to the school and had a long chat with them about them needing to do something. There are teachers at the school that have made me uncomfortable specifically two male teachers as one called me a "good girl" in front of class as that should never be said to a minor and another putting his hands on me and other female students in uncomfortable ways causing students to stick up for the harassed students, neither of the two male teachers have been fired. The substitute assistant principal has lied to my parents more than once. As a student who experienced so much more than what I have said in this review about SMS, this school has caused me trauma as I have talked about this school to other professionals outside of this school and they even say the school needs to shape up and show up for the students more. This is my last year here and SMS is not a great school for your kid(s) if you have to put them in SMS please make sure your child is safe because clearly the office doesn't try or care enough to do their job properly for students safety and mental health.Student Review1mo ago - Sultan Senior High School
