It's my son's first year of school 2021 the school assistant principal would only come up to me when I would come early to pick up my child who needs assistance walking to the car his not aware of danger all kids get dismissed when the bell rings she gave me a warning not to come early it didn't make sense but it's the rules. Not even 1 week later we get a notice that they are switching my child to another school they weren't very understanding it was just totally random decision they made. My child was perfectly fine here he loves his teachers it takes a while for kids with autism to get adjusted they weren't very understanding of that they just wanted us to go. The teachers are nice the staff I interacted with while picking up my child were nice. The only thing that is worrisome is the pickup line and rules they shouldn't dismiss all the kids outside when the bell rings not everyone is the same but accidents can happen the school is right next to the freeway/feeder you would think it would be common sense bc not all teachers are strong enough to hold onto kids who are runners or try wandering off.

I had two children at Sam Rayburn during a period of two years. Both had special needs and were in special education and/or team-taught classes, but also some regular classes. We found the teaching to be excellent and the administrators concerned and approachable. As in most middle schools, children need to be instructed by parents on selecting good, safe, peer groups. Our kids were involved in electives and extracurricular activities and chose good peers. They had a wonderful time there and made excellent progress.

This school does absolutely nothing to prevent bullying, and when someone DOES get bullied, they can’t even pretend to care. Horrible school and horrible administration.

Davila Middle School has several serious issues that need attention. From my experience, the school struggles with things like bullying, lack of teacher support, safety concerns, poor communication, etc.]. These problems make it hard for students to feel comfortable and succeed.The administration should take these concerns more seriously and work on improving student safety, communication, and overall support. Students deserve a school where they feel safe, respected, and able to learn without constant problems.”
