5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your child has special needs than you need to stay away from this school. I could write a book on how horrible things were for our son. From the top, the principal is burnt out, unprofessional, frumpy, apathetic. If your child is in the process of testing for their special needs, good luck. The diagnostician will make you jump through hoops of fire and give you every excuse in the book not to get your child what they need. Safety there? What safety? If your child wanders then you need to be extra cautious, they will let your child run off and talking to the military police or administration will do little. Of course there are some caring staff there but let me just throw a word of caution to those who look at ratings and reviews, this is not where you want to be. On another note, if you are told to go here and your child has so many needs and El Paso is not for you, you need to investigate further, EFMP is backed up in certain areas and diving deeper will reveal that. Hopefully you can bypass El Paso altogether.Parent Review9y ago - Silva Health Magnet High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCurrently, a Senior at Silva who will graduate with a 4.2 GPA, and I can tell you this school has prepared me with a strong resume for college and even the workforce. Silva does give you a great insight into the healthcare field and, by the time you graduate, you will definitely have a decision as to whether healthcare is for you or not. The clinical rotations at Silva are great, since they let you shadow in actual hospitals and see procedures you would only see during college such as surgeries. In addition, some senior programs even let you shadow any physician you want. As a graduating Silva student, I have obtained healthcare certifications that will allow me to work in a decent healthcare part-time job during college while building my resume for medical school. Everyone else that says that "Silva is too hard", just doesn't have the drive or doesn't put in the work to make up for a good grade. Silva is definitely not hard, it only requires a bit of determination. If you are a person who tends to underperform or slack off in school with the childish excuse that "it's too much for my mental health" then, I can assure you, you will have a bad time at Silva because you won't take responsibility for your failures and will blame it all on your teachers or your nonexistent teeneage "mental issues".Parent Review11mo ago - Canyon Hills Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love Canyon Middle School!@ I had two children to attend and in fact one of them won "Canyon Hills All Girl" award that is still hanging in the hall. One of them was product of Parks Elementary school and the teachers were great at communicating between each schools on their students and their abilities and accomplishments. They were very hands on with my children and provided great support, encouragement and guidance on their curriculum. When they left Canyon Hills on to Irvin High School they were well equipped academic wise in fact excelling to the top 5% of their class year. My Godson is now attending Canyon Hills Middle School and I can only see his academic skills be further enhances by his interaction with the quality of teachers there and leadership. Way to go Canyon Hills for being leaders in the education of our children. Very satisfied and extremely happy parent! RHParent Review7y ago - Career & Tech Ed Center

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your child has disabilities, do not send them here. The teachers completely disregard the accommodations for IEPs (which is illegal) and tell my kid his disability "isn't real," despite his medical diagnosis and the school papers to prove it. Nothing changed for my child's IEP even after many confrontations with the school. My child switched to Burges their senior year and now has perfect grades. Unfortunately, he cannot graduate on time, and many of the Burges teachers wish he were enrolled here instead so he'd have a chance at graduating on time. Many teachers and their narratives suggest disabilities aren't "real." I addressed this during an IEP meeting, and they'll tell you "that's just how the teacher is." If you are a teacher who believes learning disabilities aren't real, go ask that to a doctor and choose another career. My child had the potential to succeed; his only accommodation was a little extra time to turn work in due to his inability to process things as quickly as others. If you do enroll your child here, the school is generally unsafe. Multiple situations, threats, and real lockdowns occur, with the worst being last year when the school received a report of a photo of two school boys pointing a weapon at the school mirror. I know that students, including my own, had misunderstood this to be not just a photo, but two armed students and a real shooting. I’m lucky my son is okay, but the false alarm detrimented his mental state.Parent Review1mo ago - Transmountain Early College High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI enrolled two children here a few years apart and they had wonderful experiences participating in summer research programs, band, orchestra, math competitions and more. They made lifelong friends. They are both very well prepared for University and graduated high school with associate degrees.Parent Review3y ago - Check out schools near 4010 Flory Ave #4.

"Most dog walkers are friendly and respectful picking up after their dogs. The neighborhood works well together when an owners dog gets loose. We have beautiful parks, mountains with great trails for walking. There are dog groomers and pet stores available. So many neighbors have picked up stray dogs, brought them to get checked for a chip so that they can be reunited with their families."
