"I've lived in the Flushing area for over 15 years. In that time people have become more self-centered, horrible at driving, and less inclusive. The schools at all grades have bullying problems they sweep under the rug. Speeding through town and out main street is rampant and dangerous. Crime is slightly above average. If you have money to blow this is a welcoming area, but if you are average or poor you are treated horribly."
  • Sarah T.
"There are always people out walking their dogs and the dogs all see very friendly...people too, haha!"
  • Jordan H.
"This is a great place to raise a family. There are so many kids here, the schools are amazing, and there are many parks within walking distance of almost anywhere. "
  • Kyleraup
"We’re next to flushing park which is great for walking your dog and there is a large dog park. It’s a great town to own a dog in."
  • Sharon P.
"I'm on Main St not in a sub, not many young kids around but I do see families walk, run and ride bikes together. Pretty safe and quiet."
  • Dlewicki
"folks walk their dogs all the time. No problems as long as they are on a leash, well mannered and under supervision. owners must pick up after the animal or suffer the wrath of the neighbors"
  • Kaleeap
"The friendly neighbors and family friendly neighborhood is great to start a family and settle down. "
  • Chesterclaxton
"This is an amazing neighborhood, Mt Morris proper, but Flushing community love this community it is safe and clean , safe for kids and excellent schools close to downtown Flushing and Tons of restaurants "
  • Cdunton
"Great school and safe environment for kids and nice small town People are really nice and friendly nice old town and trails to walk on"
  • Kyle R
"Dog owners would love the many parks Flushing has to offer. One of our parks are a destination just for dogs to let loose. Nothing better than a happy pooch."
  • Kyleraup
"There are tons of community events like harvest festival, candle walk, concerts in the park and many more."
  • Chesterclaxton
"it is a comfortable place to walk dogs, neigbors are dog friendly and those with dogs picks up after, Mt Morris has several parts some more rural and others suburban and some urban not sure how this answer fits for the Urban side. "
  • Kyleraup
"I’ve lived in Flushing for over 20 years now and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Great schools, parks, and caring community."
  • Kyle R
"I love this community. People are friendly and always say hello when you’re out and about. The school system is great my kids all went through them and all were very prepared for college."
  • Betty
"I t's small, very quaint. Almost everyone knows each other, settled down making new friends and much more. "
  • Ketchu1j
"dog friendly community. lots of walking routes, off-leash dog park inside of county park, never see any loose dogs at large."
  • Brycebellinger
"Nice neighborhoods with inexpensive housing and taxes. Neighbors are nice and community is very nice and friendly. Not a lot of through traffic in town. Lots of activities for kids and schooling is great!"
  • Kayla W.
"Flushing is a very friendly community as if the town was so small everyone knew each other and treated each-other like family. We watch out for each other and keep our eyes on our surroundings to make sure there is no foulness. Very quiet and so many events happen down town right on main street as well as the shops/ restaurants and bars! Love Flushing!"
  • Melissaharding08
"Great community and the Woodland Ponds are a great source of fun and entertainment!"
  • rose
"Love this cute historic town! Great community for families and retirees, We feel safe from crime and a sense of community togetherness. For a town of this size (aprox. 12,000 people) there is a lot of community involvement and festivities that the city holds. Everything that you would need is downtown and is all walking distance of each other. Some draw backs are Pedestrian safety, cars are not aware of walker/ bikers and do not watch or stop for them. Shopping and dining is minimal, but what is available is good, and again it's comes with the size of the town. "
