About this House

Must see inside! "Breeze Hill" is a 5-7 BD, 5 BA historic home which offers a unique combination of turn-of-the-century charm and modern amenities. The renovated gourmet Kitchen (2007) has a stainless 4-burner Wolf range w/ center griddle, copper exhaust hood, large copper farmhouse sink, stainless refrigerator, wine frig, large island with granite counter, & a charming fireplace. A soaring Family Room addition (2010) has a stone exterior to match the original home and features gleaming wood floors, gas fireplace, vintage re-purposed millwork, & hidden 'in-wall' speakers. A distinctive wet bar was created from a re-purposed church organ and has intricate carved wood details. The marble-tiled front Entrance Hall leads to a charming Parlor/Study with a gas fireplace, a large Living Room with a corner fireplace, and a formal Dining Room. There is a full BA off the Laundry/Mudroom, & rear stairs from the Kitchen to the Master BD. Several rooms were combined upstairs to create a Master Bedroom Suite with 3 closets and a luxurious marble Master Bath with double vanity, whirlpool tub, & separate stall shower. 3 more BD and 2 full BA (each w/oversized tubs) complete the 2nd floor. The 3rd fl. has a 5th BD with 5th full BA, plus 2 bonus rooms and a walk-in attic. Charming nooks, detailed millwork, window seats, and closets abound. This home also has 9' ceilings on the 1st floor, original diamond-paned windows, 5 fireplaces, high baseboards, newer storm windows, new roof (2014), updated electrical (1997/2015), 2 water heaters (2012/2015), new gas boiler (2015), & 3 elec. heat pumps which provide add'l zoned heat plus central A/C. A sparkling pool with a stone waterfall is nestled into the hillside in a very private setting. The rear patio overlooks a grassy, level lawn which is ideal for recreation and surrounded by mature landscaping for privacy. A stone Springhouse has 2 upper-level rooms which could make a charming studio or office. There is ample room for vehicles & storage in the detached 4+ car Garage/Barn with an upper level loft. The 1.3+ ac. property is deceptively large ? check out the plot plan in the house when you visit. Conveniently located in top-ranked T/E school district near Upper Main Line YMCA, shopping, restaurants, and Berwyn train station. Built in the late 1800's by Joseph W. "My husband and I have one car because the commute is easy and we can walk to the train station. We work in Wayne, but sometimes we have to work in Philly which is an easy commute of 40 minutes."
  • Bapdgm.barbara

  • Maureen Mullin Mahoney
"Quiet and safe, great schools and location. Close to great shopping and restaurants, but you feel like you are in a private oasis."
  • Trulia User
"Lots of dogs and people walking them (and lots of people walking around), which isn’t bad. The only bad part of (not the neighborhood) but of TE is that most dog owners never have a leash on their dog! It is so dangerous. Often people think, “well my dog loves other dogs! They don’t need a leash.” But what about the OTHER dogs who don’t like unfamiliar dogs running up to them! Think about the dogs that are reactive and the owners who try to prevent incidents by controlling the environment so their dog and everyone around is safe. It’s impossible to control a situation like that. I love this area so much, but really wish people would think about this concern. "
  • Pra M.
"Safe, civil, caring... and generally alert as it is well taken care off during snow and also at all times by a great police team"
  • Corey L. A.
"Traffic flow is reasonable at most busy hours of the day. I don’t mind my commute at all. I love living here!"
  • Lulurgunn

"This is a wonderful, family-centered area. Shops and restaurants within easy walking distance, public transportation (bus, train) available nearby. All homes in this area are maintained very well and have always retained their value. Home is situated in the award-winning Tredyffrin/Easttown school district. HS is rated #5 in the state. This home has been lovingly maintained by the same family since it was built. The outside of the home is completely maintenance free and indoors has been updated including high-end appliances in the granite topped kitchen (sub-zero, thermador, butler's pantry with asko dishwasher and copper sink). Custom cherry cabinets in kitchen and butler's pantry. All baths updated. Master suite includes walk-in closet with system, marble bath. Secondary bath upstairs has 2 sinks, new fixtures. All rooms have been updated. Home includes a generously sized office with vaulted ceiling. Inground pool retiled and resurfaced with cement pool deck. New cover on pool 2013. Custom built shed and pergola. Large pavered patio outside kitchen with gorgeous cedar pergola. Lovely gardens. A wonderful, large home for a growing family!"
