But it doesn’t stop there. This positive start to each day extends beyond the students, reaching parents dropping off their kids. Witnessing such a wonderful greeting and nurturing environment fills me with joy and gratitude every morning.The teachers are truly wonderful; they ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and create an environment where learning becomes an adventure. It’s not about textbooks alone; it’s about nurturing hearts and minds.As a parent, I deeply value the top-quality education and the heartfelt care provided by the staff. Westfield consistently ranks among the state’s top schools, often securing the highest position. It’s not just a school; it’s a nurturing community where children flourish and families find genuine support. Beyond the rankings, Westfield is a place where children thrive, families feel valued, and genuine support abounds.

Bullying is out of control at this school. Discipline is also not followed through. Academics are wonderful and so are most teachers. They do not have language programs, no Mock Trial Team, or M.U.N. We pulled out child and entered the Cedar Rapids District. All of this was offered and more. Plus, I had a happier child. Bullying was no longer an issue.

Linn Mar use to be a school of choice with parents moving to the district so their children could attend one of the schools.. The last couple of years, families have been moving away, open enrolling their children in other districts, and homeschooling. The school board has attempted to implement policies that parents feel are not in the best interest of their children. The board is made up of people who are not leaders and who are disrespectful to other board members and to the parents. They have created a divisive environment. A school board can make or break a school system. This one is broken.
