10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe School itself is very nice as well as most of the faculty. For the most part each teacher wants you to succeed. The Faculty is always there to help you or talk to you. The Student body is very large and all eat lunch together which results in many problems and bullying. Overall, Hurricane is a great school.Other Review9y ago4 Reviews - Hurricane Middle School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI agree with the parent who gave the school 1 star. There are exceptional teachers at this school, however there are others who are just going through the motions. My child has been demeaned by a teacher and has heard other students demeaned by the same and other teachers. My student has a teacher who loses student's work on her extremely messy desk and rolls around the room in her chair to teach. This same teacher mispronounces common words and grades my child's accurate homework as incorrect. The parking and drop off at the school is probably the worst I have ever seen. Dangerous to the students and a huge time delay to the community.Parent Review13y ago2 Reviews - Mountain View Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe receptionist from day one unfortunately is incredibly rude and disrespectful. This has happened multiple times. I would highly suggest hiring someone with a much better demeanor to be the 'face' of an elementary school. Other than her ruining much of the experience the teachers are great! One apple has the power to spoil the bunch though.Parent Review8mo ago18 Reviews - Check out schools near 40 Lambert Dr.

"I work in Charleston, so it’s about a 30-45 minute drive depending on the traffic. I live in the middle of Hurricane and traffic can get bad with school zones in the morning "

"I’m not a dog owner so I’m not sure what it is like for those who have them. I know there’s a lot of dogs in the neighborhood and they are fenced in. I rarely see one running loose."

"The city always has something going for kids. The city has a reservoir that is stocked for good fishing and has a park there with baseball fields, basketball courts, a play ground for kids and a spray park. There is also a city park that has baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, hiking trails, two lakes for fishing, a picnic shelter, dog park, and a community center that includes a small shopping where you can go the ice cream shop and food court. In the summer time the show movies on a big screen where you bring your own chairs. Movie nights are free except for the food trucks and ice cream. The city of Hurricane is always hosting events on historic Main Street. The schools here are some of the better schools in the state. "

"We just moved here about 2 months ago. Wonderful neighbors. Very pet friendly. Clean and quiet area. We love it here. Only down side is having to get up really early to get to work on time during the school season. Elementary school right around the corner. Pretty close to a Walgreens and many restaurants. about 5 minutes from the interstate too. about 15 minutes from a Krogers. "
