8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI didn't find this school to be particularly bad or good. It was average overall. I did find their special needs department to be below average. I had a child with an IEP. The team didn't listen to my input as to what I knew was and wasn't effective teaching styles/personalities for my child. I did not feel part of the team to help my child be successful. And because of this, my child struggled terribly there. It was very frustrating. On of my child's teacher's way of dealing with the diagnosed adhd/anxiety was to have my child sit in the hallway alone at a desk in the corner for much of the day. On the contrary, Edison Middle school's case worker did listen to my input (as does WWSHS now) and I am happy with my child's progress at both the middle and high school.Parent Review2y ago5 Reviews - Wheaton Warrenville South High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a nightmare if you're a brown student. You're constantly started at, whispered about, and treated like you don't belong. The subtle bullying is everywhere, but when we say something to any white kid even if it doesn't affect them we are reported and are told their too sensitive, and we get in trouble.Meanwhile, white students say and do mean things to each other it's considered as oh it's just friends joking. No one reports them or punishes them. But if we speak up or complain, suddenly we're the problem. They put up flags from every country and talk about diversity, but it's all for show. The school doesn't actually care about treating everyone fairly. If you want a place where students of color are respected and supported this isn't it.Student Review9mo ago13 Reviews - Check out schools near 3S666 Leask Ln.

"People are walking dogs in the trails in Green Trails all the time. It’s nice to see. Often stop and chat when passing by. As in most parks or trails areas like this there are people who don’t pick up after their dogs but most do."

"Lisle families are attentive to nurturing a strong community. There are welcoming local public schools where it’s like private school without the tuition. (As a parent who had children in Montessori schools, parochial schools, AND public schools, I feel I have an informed perspective.) Each student is known by not just their teachers, but also by most of the staff. There are a lot of activities for students, both inside and outside of the classroom. The local Friday night light football games hosted at Benedictine University are well attended by school families and townspeople alike. And the sense of community is strongly nurtured through local parades, monthly car shows, holiday celebrations, and even our nationally known Eyes to the Skies festival with up-close encounters with hot air balloons and numerous live bands. Our library has regular programming for all ages of children, students, and adults. And the Lisle Park District pool is first rate! Neighborhoods and the downtown are very walkable. "

"Maybe they wouldn’t like there’s no sidewalks but we have lots of trails to walk on. In winter it’s a bit more difficult to walk your dog as at times you may be limited to walk on the street. We all get by and love the area for us and our dogs."

"It's a small town so you know or know of most of the kids and families in the neighborhood. Many of the kids have attended the same schools together since kindergarten. Although it's small, there are larger communities surrounding the area so there is always something to do. I grew up in Lisle as well and have always felt safe here. Good people, plenty of parks, great community center, pool and trees! Eyes to the Skies over the 4th is great, small town parades, car shows downtown in the summer, fishing derby for the kids. A lot of yearly activities to make a family tradition. Wildlife: Frequently see deer, last year two of them walking up stream in the DuPage River. Many birds, owl hoots and the occasional coyote and deer in front yards in the evening and early morning hours. Common to see bats around the porch lights catching bugs. Plenty of snapping turtles and fish in the ponds and river. "
