"it's sketchy. lots of renters in the area and not from a good background. often loud and irresponsible. "
  • Trulia User
"Small dog park and places for them to relieve themselves. They also provide waste bags for dogs waste. Nice area to walk your dog inside of Legacy Walk."
  • Trulia User
"Very dog friendly in Legacy Walk Townhome off of 43rd St and Newton Ave. Every here is very friendly always walking there dogs. "
  • Trulia User
"it is a very unsafe neighborhood, I've been living here for 3 yrs now and there is always shootings or something going on."
  • Trulia User
"I've lived here for a year and a half and it's noisy, cops everywhere, people screaming all the time, trash on the sidewalk, houses aren't taken cared of "
  • Trulia User
"too many drug addicts walking around. don't let your kids walk alone anywhere. cars drive too fast threw this tight street. too much police activity. I regret moving in this area and can't wait to move out. keep the kids safe."
  • Rena R.
"I have lived her since 2009 and it is a great neighborhood. My children go to school here and the high school is in walking distance from my home. I came from Carlsbad to this area it’s a bit different but I love it here wouldn’t make my home anywhere else. I love this area if you mind your business people don’t bother you. Stores are close by."
  • Richard B.
"There is not much around here to say it is a special neighborhood. There is a church around the cornervthat gives donations to whomever goes by, that's a nice getsure. "
  • Kevin G.
"Honestly don’t get me wrong this neighborhood is safe dispite the rough appeal. I actually heard that this area was uninhabitable 10-20 years ago.. but it’s improved since. The fact that this is one of the only place where you can afford a home under 350k is reason enough to stay"
  • Iriscadena
"Not a safe neighborhood to raise a family, shootings gang activity and drugs on every turn. Really expensive to live around here and not worth it at all."
  • Ramona F.
"I currently live in this area, it is not a safe area... Just bought a house in chula vista.. less crime and safer for my children and family.. "
  • psychoujonilee
"I've lived here 12 years. It's nice because it is gated. The neighborhood is mixed races. There is everything you need from grocery stores to Home Depot within walking distance. This area has been given a bad rep. from years ago. As long as you are not involved with gangs you will never be bothered. I'm a single white woman and have never been hassled or robbed. We have less crime in here than places like La Jolla. I give the school district a 5 star, because SD Unified allows you to put your child in any school in the district, you aren't restricted to the one nearest you. You just apply to a couple schools early, in the spring is a good time. The homeowner's association is good (I'm on the board). We need some good people to move in- we don't tolerate rule-breakers and law-breakers. "
