3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCan't say enough good things about this school and the teachers at Pond Gap! There is a family spirit at the school and we feel welcomed by everyone we interact with. The community school coordinator and their university staff have worked with my child since day 1, and having access to high-quality and free afterschool care for my child (via referral) has been a lifesaver. The university-assisted community schools program is a great amenity for a local public school. Diversity is celebrated in this environment and the administrators go above and beyond to engage with parents and the broader community!Parent Review1y ago - West High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy concern with this school is the theatre program. In the past 4 years, I watched the same kids (even read their names in the playbills) over and over again. The students all knew it and those that truly wanted to get somewhere in theatre went to venues where they could get a fair audition, training, and opportunity to perform. So that my review is crystal clear, in this public high school only certain kids are landing the majority of leading roles in the 2 plays performed annually. If a student happens to land a leading role and they did not have one in the year prior, that is considered "taking a chance" on that student. Shame on this outfit for establishing norms of risk rather than celebrating opportunities for success. Each play should be fortified with a lineup of newcomers so that there is ample opportunity for all talent levels to participate.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 3945 Greenleaf Ave.

"The city as a whole has becoming increasingly “sketchy” throughout. It still has good parts but even those areas are not as good as what they were 8 years ago. I’d suggest doing some strong research."

"Someone tried to break into our house once while we were home. And raccoons tear up our garbage bins every week. Lots of homeless people waking around and speeding cars "

"We live on the water and we get to see a lot of boats/yachts go by. We are also close to campus so there is still a youthful vibe to the neighborhood. Knoxville has some of the best sunsets around, and being so close to downtown has made it easy to socialize. I would recommend better access to public transportation, but aside from that, this is a lovely place to live."
