About this House

Located in a quiet neighborhood less than a 10 minute walk from downtown Berwick, this grand Colonial, is sited on a meticulously maintained 0.23 acre corner lot with a detached two-story barn, mature landscaping, a variety of fruit trees and bushes providing privacy. The charming 3 bedroom home boasts plenty of natural light and has been updated while still keeping many original details including built-ins and ornate ceiling tiles in the front library, wood floors throughout, staircase to the second floor, a Juliet balcony above the front entry, and more. The open concept first floor is inviting and perfect for easy living, it offers a welcoming sun parlor that could be used as breakfast nook, lounge area, or mudroom. The bright, adjacent kitchen features newer stainless appliances and a clever pantry. Entertaining is made easy in the spacious front to back living room featuring a gas insert fireplace with stone facade. Completing this level is the half bath. Upstairs are the three bedrooms, all with gleaming wide pine floors, a spacious shared bath with soaking tub and a stacked washer and dryer, and an alcove space that leads up to the unfinished third floor attic or to the sunny rear balcony. The current owner hired a company to perform an energy audit and remediation that included air sealing in the attic, adding insulation where it was missing, adding a vapor barrier in the basement, removing knob and tube wiring, and more.

"Good neighborhood, safe, quiet, easy commutes, friendly, good school system, quaint, farms, golf courses"
  • Leah R.
"Nice to walk dogs lots of children and friendly neighbors. Lived here for 3 years"
  • Katie L.
"It's a nice loop so walking your dog on a quiet road is nice and easy to do. it is hard though because the front yards of people's homes are the green space available which means your dog will likely pee on some else's yard or plants on the walk. "
  • Brian R.
"My town is great by offering family atmosphere and beautiful landscape with nice houses, great schools and a recreation department that will make your children feel at ease and safe."
  • Voxdcm
"Strawberry festival day, concert in the park series ,playgrounds recreational sports and activities.."
  • Jaymacres
"where I live is a very busy street and the cars go way to fast. I know a woman who was killed on my street walking her dog. there are so many places to go to walk your dog but the convenience of stepping right outside and going isnt always the safest option."
  • Erin B.
"It is a very nice, community oriented downtown setting, without any dangers of a typical downtown area. There are a lot of rents filled with friendly neighbors."
  • Lauren V.
"If you are looking for a private life, quiet, wooded area with lots of land for animals or hunting or snowmobiling. This is it! "
  • dave_palmer5
"I've lived in Berwick for 28 yrs and know this neighborhood which is in my opinion still one of the nicest, well kept rural neighborhoods in Berwick. You feel like your deep in the country, well away from the City traffic and problems, yet your only 10-15 minutes away from any type of shopping needs you have and just 17 miles to Portsmouth, NH. You can be at the York, Wells or Ogunquit beaches in under 30 minutes. If your thing is the Mountains, your just 45 minutes to just over an hour to the White Mountains of NH. You are 45 minutes to Portland Maine, just over an hour to Boston Mass and just minutes to some of the finest dining anywhere. The town of Berwick has one of the Oldest Summer Theaters in the Country, the Hackmatack Playhouse....! The school system is second to none, the town services are excellent, the crime rate is almost non existent when it comes to home invasions or personal attacks. I know this neighborhood has many kids and safe areas to play. I have been in this particular home and would be my first choice to raise a family if I had one. The house is absolutely incredible, the owner very knowledgeable about the home and I learned it was designed to be built in 3 phases, the first built in 1986, 2nd 1995 and the 3rd has yet to be completed. What strikes me as incredible is you could NOT buy a piece of property in a neighborhood like this and build a home like this for the price they are asking.......!!"
