My second child is a senior at this school. It has deteriorated between the years my daughters have attended. Many teachers are not fully accredited. Some hardly attend class themselves or leave before the school year is finished. We had a case of severe bulky ng against my daughter. Including cyberbullying that was against VA state code. Hardly anything was done. The bully didn't even have to take the inappropriate picture on his school account after he signed a no contact form that state there was to be no electronic contact. Aon told my daughter she wasn't allowed to report "every little thing" h did and she only felt this way b caus she is female. Fast forward to the day when this kid chased my daughter and her friend of the school parking lot attempting to rear end her and th n chased them through half of the city. Only then did the picture come down and school.admon take notice. Still allowed the kid to have his car on campus.

As someone who has been there and attended the school for 7th and 8th grade, I would like to say how unsafe and horrible this school is. This school had at least 2-3 fights every week. They just pass everyone. There are people that moved on to high school with a 2nd-grade reading level and can't even divide. The teachers are so rude and disrespectful. There are about a total of 2-3 good teachers in that WHOLE school. The staff and principal were barely even seen in 8th grade year; there were always multiple holes in the ceiling and bathrooms shut down. They only care about sports students, and if your kid is not in sports, they aren't given as much attention. They didn't inform parents about updates going on that often, maybe around once a month, and that email/phone call was around the middle of the month. This is a horrible school to go to. I went to the guidance counselors about bullying, and they sat there and spoke to me about my grades because "I couldn't be getting bullied," I guess, because I was still passing my classes. I know a lot of people that struggled mentally in that school because the guidance counselors just simply did not care enough unless it was about grades or about classes. They put kids with special needs in regular classes and not in classes they needed or gave them extra help. They gave us 3 minutes to get from one class to another, which sucked because I had a class on the 3rd floor and had to get to the back of the school on the first floor, and when I spoke to someone about it, they said that "it's plenty of time because someone with crutches did it," which was a teacher, not a student that has to move through the crammed hallways. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. If you have a chance to switch or just not attend this school, take that chance. and choose a different school

Returning to education this year as an Instructional Data Specialist at Churchland Primary and Intermediate has been a wonderful experience. Working under the leadership of Dr. Harris has reignited my passion for this field. She empowers me to fully use my skill set by supporting data-driven conversations with staff and leadership, analyzing trends, and identifying strategies to close achievement gaps.Dr. Harris fosters a safe, warm, and nurturing environment for students, and it’s clear that the staff genuinely enjoy coming to work each day. I feel safe, supported, and valued in this building, and it truly feels like an elementary school should—welcoming, energetic, and focused on students.Based on my experience, I wholeheartedly recommend this school. I would feel confident having my own child attend Churchland Primary and Intermediate under the current leadership and environment.
