9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have waited until I felt that I had enough information before writing this review. We are now at the halfway mark of the school year. We came here from Alabama which comes with its own set of challenges. This is a more academically challenging environment and this is coming from the parent of a child who was previously attending a magnet school known for the increased rigor. My child is also a minor. With that being said, this staff has made this move so much better for my child. She is in the 8th grade which makes it an even more difficult transition because this means most of the kids already have established friend groups. Even with this, and all of the challenges of developing new friendships and adapting to extreme academic challenges, the staff here stepped in and made this transition as smooth as humanly possible. Early on we had to deal with some bullying and as soon as the administration was informed, they jumped to action to, not only correct the issue, but also to make sure that my child was comfortable and emotionally okay. They reached out several times just to check on her. They made it clear that their door was always open and it was a genuine offer and they stood by a zero tolerance bullying policy. They have taken every opportunity to help my child forge new friendships. The math teachers have been phenomenal!!! I would venture to say they may have completely rebuilt my child's overall view of math so that now she is able to do math in her head that she has never grasped prior to this. They have gone above and beyond to provide tutoring help and coordinate with us to improve her performance. It has been the same with the English, math and history teachers. I could honestly go on and on but I think the important part of this is that I actually feel like my child is safe when she leaves for school. Emotionally SAFE. Mentally SAFE. Academically SAFE. Medically SAFE. This school is excellent in my opinion and I have no regrets over choosing to send my child here.Parent Review1y ago16 Reviews - Gardner Bullis Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is a reason the smallest school in LASD has such a stellar reputation and that is the community. You will find every single community event and PTA meeting well attended at Gardner Bullis. Additionally the new principal and teachers and staff have created a positive learning environment for our kids. Kids experience their elementary school years knowing they are supported and love learning in this environment. Gardner Bullis kids have a reputation for being community leaders when they continue on to middle and high schools. Highly recommend.Parent Review1y ago13 Reviews - Check out schools near 38 3rd St.

"This is the ideal neighborhood that is safe, and very much like at the 1950's feel with the charm but updated wonderfully. Grew up here and still the same. Pricey but a place to call home!"

"Great place to walk dogs - wide, lightly traveled streets. Many have no sidewalks, making lots of planting areas that make cleanup so much easier. Relatively few lawns. "

"Drive mostly in order to visit from place to place — better and arguably easier to have a car. Would say that it feels very suburban."

"Los Altos is a very engaging family oriented community. Excellent schools, fun activities for the family(movie nights in the park, Pets parade, light parade, wine and art festival with children activities, farmers market, Easter egg hunt) to just name a few! It is an amazing safe city to raise a family! "

"I grew up in Los Altos, it’s still a great town, but it’s definitely changed. At times, I wish the pendulum could swing back to when things weren’t so stressful!! When I grew up here, we’d play outdoors and with all our neighbors!! I hardly know our neighbors, I’ve attempted to get to know them, but they pretty much stick to themselves!! "

"I am originally from Paris and have lived in this neighborhood for 17 years. My family and I love it. Now that the kids are going to college we thought of leaving the area because it’s quite expensive but it is also very safe, the weather is amazing and the community is very nice. Plus there’re lots of natural preserves and the sea close by as well as everything you need in the towns and city. Business is booming in the Silicon Valley... makes it tough to leave!"
