They need to shut down this school for failing students in both math and English. People, we need to wake up...we are and should not be victims of our own government institutions!!!!!Other Review7y ago - Fifty-Ninth Street Elementary School

"The area is definitely up and coming and changing everyday. Home prices are increasing a lot and I would say the area is being gentrified due to its location. People walk their dog at night and the area is not really any more dangerous than wealthier areas. "

"neighborhood crime is a definite problem. That's huge over here right now. Nice neighborhood but the crime and constant gunfire is absolutely insane.."

"I love it. Really pretty too. I walk my dog all the time and love looking at the old architecture. I also love that the train will be close"

"There are many families with little ones living here and a far local parks. Although I have never had a bad experience with my fellow neighbors.. I do feel like you should take care of your belongings or loved ones when out and about. And that’s everywhere. Just be safe. I’ve lived here for 20 yrs and I now have my baby son. I’m comfortable shopping and walking the sidewalks with him. I just always say to be cautious and safe. It’s a very nice area once you get familiar with it."

"I grew up in this house and plan on getting it back. So many fun memories and parties here. The whole block knew my grand parents. Very safe growing up for me guess because i knew and went to school with the homies from around the way. Older community now but its always been home for me. My name still on the concrete lol."

"I live in this neighborhood and you can still walk around with your purse and not worry about getting mugged so overall this neighborhood is still relatively safe there is some gang activity however most of the neighbors and people in the neighborhood are fairly friendly also it could be a little cleaner after all there are a lot of taxpayers in this neighborhood"

"I would not live here ever again. I lived there my wholly life and was able to move far away as a grown up. Not recommended for raising children. The worst area in and around. Very dangerous. A lot of gangs and robberies. Too much gang violence and killings. Get out of Los Angeles of possible. Give your family a better chance at life. You don’t have to be a gang banger to be affected by that life style. Trust me I know. "
