7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIrresponsible staff. They send an email that my kid is absent when we dropped my kid in the morning (he was 1 minute late). We worry about our kid and call the school but they don’t respond. My husband immediately rushed to the school and they just didn’t seem to care or understand our tension and told my husband to wait and were attending other kids in the office room (who came after my husband). They were not ready to call the teacher and check or send somebody to check. They show the tardy slip and say my kid is present. How can a tardy slip guarantee my kid’s presence in school?The lady who was attending other kids (who came after my husband) says attending those kids was their priority. So my kid is not part of their school? Is his safety not their priority too?25 mins they put us through a lot of tension and panic. Very irresponsible attitude. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a great school for those who want to learn!ProsThere are many opportunities and support available for those students who come from families with less time or money than is optimal to support their children's education. The program is even set up to allow most homework to be done during class as many kids have other responsibilities once they leave campus. I don't know why but a lot of the kids just don't seem interested in taking advantage of what this school has to offer. They have an amazing library, multiple levels of instruction (Standard, Honors and AP) and one of the best student counselor ratios in the area. If a child wants to go to college, there is substantial support to help make it happen. ConsIt is an older facility and is overdue for some improvements, there are really too many kids for this size facility & some teachers seem to be covering classes that they aren't really qualified to teach. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a current students of Walters Middle School I think it’s a great school. Some reasons are. I as a student am feeling extremely safe. Great teachers. Amazing counselors . Finally there is a great amount of elective to choose fromAs a student the I found the counselors extremely helpful when you need to figure out something mentally, have problems with school , or managing your grades.Teachers there are strict, fun, and silly . Finally when choosing electives for 7th grade there is a great variety such as art and Spanish . The Spanish program they have can be used for you only doing 1 year language in high school. "I have lived here for over 9 years and I really enjoy that the lake is only a five minute walk from here. There's also a waterpark, four kids playgrounds, a basketball court, baseball field, tennis courts, soccor field, running path, wildlife, a library, an earthquake fault exhibit, community centers(teen center, senior center), community events and the list goes on. They even have a park for the dogs!! Need I say more? lol :)"
