10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is in 6th grade and I was nervous my child would be overwhelmed with how many students there are. My child loves this school. He loves most of his teachers. He says all the Staff Mr Boyle and Mr Tames do an amazing job to curtail any problems that arise. They know the personalities of their students and are able to hold them accountable for their actions. There have been some fights during the school year but for a school that has 12 homerooms in each grade of about 30 kids in each homeroom for each grade it's expected. If you feel your not being heard or your child isn't getting their fair share. The parents need to communicate this to the Dean or Asst Principal. My child just loves this school. I'm hoping 7 thand 8 th grade is just as enjoyable.Parent Review2mo ago - Ps 3 The Margaret Gioiosa School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have 2 children in this school going on 4 years for the older one and could not be happier with the teachers, principal and vp ms. A . Teachers really put in the effort to have the kids reach their full potential. I am truly amazed at how much my children learn and both come home happy every day. Whenever I need to discuss something with the teachers I feel heard and most have gone above and beyond my expectations to resolve minor issues and especially during the pandemic. I cant say enough positive things about the teachers and also the paras are just as wonderful. All truly care for the students. The principal, mr meyers, does a fantastic job keeping the parents informed and his presence is seen all over the school from morning greetings at the main entrance to his personal appearances in classrooms on Fridays when he gives out reading medals to the children. His involvement and approach to his position makes the school feel like a community. The vp ms. A is also fantastic. She is quick to resolve issues and great at her position as well. Truly a great schoolParent Review2y ago - Tottenville High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagemy current experience as a freshman is alright. some kids bully me about me being bi and whatnot but id say thats just kids being kids, they ignore the urge to support us, which i get. teachers are nice if youre on their good side, and even if youre not, that would be totally fine. one thing id like to mention is that you get punished for defending yourself in a physical altercation as per school policy, which i dont really get. i was in a fight (yeah already) where i had to defend myself and i got after school detention. i see where theyre coming from but still. a little loophole i noticed too is that although tests are scheduled and out of control for teachers to decide when they are, they can decide when quizzes happen, which means you can have 2-3 quizzes in a day some days. however, i like the flexibility with scheduling, given the 1st-8th period or 2nd-9th period schedules, and that you can change your lunch period to fit your needs. overall a good school. not the best of the best but its still a nice school, especially considering it is a public school and not a private school.Student Review4mo ago - Kathleen Grimm School For Leadership

"Great place for young families; the pool is immaculate and the meadow with the park is very nice for the children . It’s better to live on one of the blocks that is just a loop (like Azalea Ct) and close to pool. "

"I have lived here since 1994...HOA Lorraine Loop. Parking is very cramped. People have rented and trash properties. Townhouse walls that separate residential units are thin. Noise go right through walls. Neighbors have no regard for others that have to sleep and get ready for work. No privacy in backyards. Yes, people park in your driveway! "
