3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have a child in the first grade and i feel that he isn't being helped fully when it comes to certain things. He has a learning disability and struggles with reading and finishing things without some extra time. I get notes home saying it took him 30 minutes to complete an assignment or he struggles with certain things. Well yes he does and i feel his teacher should take that into consideration instead of sending notes home everyday and making him feel bad because he has a harder time with certain subjects than his peersParent Review8y ago4 Reviews - Heritage Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two children who go to this school. One has an IEP and is on the spectrum. He is quiet and a rule follower. So, disciplinary issues with him are at a minimum. His special ed teacher in 5 th grade was amazing and cared so much. All of his teachers as he is in 80% regular teachers. Flash forward 6 th grade the special Ed teacher while nice told me “all of her students pass” and asked me “what realistic plans did I have for my child”. She used slang and improper English and talked to me as if we were hanging out. My other child has had some emotional issues. Issues with being bullied that followed her over from the elementary school. Everything is blamed in Covid they didn’t know what students could be placed together and now “all the bullies are in one class”. This went on for 2 years at the elementary school. I do have to give credit for the middle school handling it quick? But it actually took my child getting violent back for action to happen. It should not have to get to that point. No wanted to teach my children violence was not the answer. I just done feel as if the school is preparing the kids for college or any academic success. It’s not an awful school , but there is room for improvement. I found some of the tea hers amazing. The principal and vice principal actually love their jobs. I love how strict the principal is. If they had that at Nathan Hale maybe problems would have solved earlier on. Also, tired of fighting for services for my special needs child. I have learned things present in every school district in Illinois. They will give you the bare minimum unless you fight for it. It is so frustrating. I sometimes worry about children with parents who are t as well versed with the laws and/or do t have the same resources. What will happen to those children. From what it sounds like the school district has made great strides from reading previous reviews, but they need to keep going and do better.Parent Review1y ago10 Reviews - Thornton Fractional South High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school does a great job supporting its students. I especially value the diversity and the attention given to kids who may need a little extra help. It’s clear the staff cares about student success.Parent Review1mo ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near 3544 E 192nd St.
