"Keep your doors locked. We’ve had several thefts over the last few years. Fishing gear from backyard, a car from our driveway, and tools out of a truck. Too many homeless nearby"

"Kihei is a beautiful town on Maui’s South Shore but the lower access road does flood during storms but overall is a great town and the further south u go the more expensive homes and condos get as u near the Wailea and Makena areas "

"Kihei has what I would call a very large transient population of young people settling for short periods, retirees settling for their golden years, many recurring visitors, and of course the locals. This creates a diverse cultural community "

"there are lots of dogs in the area, most of which have been friendly, but some roam around loose. I don't notice lots of barking late at night though, which is nice. "

"Pretty safe neighborhood to live in. schools are decent,no major Dow,town area or high school yet. I have not lived here that long however,people seem quite friendly and respectful,there are beaches that are nice around. "

"I've lived in Maui Meadows for a year and am still in love with it's beauty, views, quotes and safe feeling. we hope to stay here long term if we can find an Ohana to purchase in the next year or so. we particularly love being close to the best beaches on Maui!"
