Burley was a mixed bag for me. I had some teachers very dedicated to student learning, and I had some who hardly knew the subject themselves. I've noticed a lot of these reviews focus on sports, fine arts, clubs, etc. But the true reason for a school is academics, and that is where Burley should focus more. Students frequently get pushed through classes where they have little to no proficiency (math, mainly). When I attended BYU, I found that many schools had more dedicated teachers, resources, and programs than Burley. I realize it is largely rural, but if the teachers have degrees, they could do more than assign crossword puzzles for vocab or coloring pages for science classes. Our post-Burley college attrition rate is dismal; students are often not prepared to succeed or even know what college entails. On a more positive note, everyone has the opportunity to be involved in a club/sport/activity, and it is probably the best in the district. The student body really supports the disabled students, and Mrs. Woodland provided a variety of great college resources (grants, college visits, etc.) through the Gear Up program. If you're in the Mini-Cassia area, Burley is a GREAT pick. I just wish the school was more academically focused and committed.

Good school good for kids and great counseling

My kids have been going to this school for 6 years and I love it. The teachers are amazing and care for the kids and community. The principal encourages life skills like grit, self worth, and the golden rule. Music teachers teach songs that influence kids to do good!

Declo High has both positive and negative aspects. Their math program is very weak. There are few options if your child does not do well with the teacher. Some teachers will respond to emails, while others do not. Their sports, dance, and band are very good and competitive.

I am very disappointed with the school. I do not recommend their school to anyone.

The staff, students, parents, and community have been awesome and very welcoming. They have made me feel very welcomed.

Was a student many years ago. Very biased staff. If you didnt have the right last name you were sunk. As soon as it was discovered i wasnt mormon i was all but told to leave. Telfords class was like attending church servicea

Probably one of the worst schools you could possibly attend. The staff are very rude to the students. They think they are of total control and so they would mistreat the students. The teachers don't do a very good job at educating all their students. 8/10 teachers are either very rude or boring, or else dull and unhelpful. The school doesn't treat all of its students equally and it seems that the teachers don't really go into actually helping and answering any of their students' needs or questions. If you plan on going to this school, you better be prepared for the worst!
